I retired in June 2007 after serving five years as a vice-principal in a middle school. Prior to that position, I had taught middle school and high school social studies for 17 years and was a social studies supervisor for a local regional high school district for almost three years.

Chuck and I met at William Paterson College and were married 45 years ago. He was a special agent for INS and president of a national union of federal employees for more than 20 years, traveling to DC each week.

We lived in Jackson for 32 years and had been active in community organizations. We moved to Lansdale PA in 2018 and are enjoying meeting new people and exploring our new community and region.

I remember Jini from our Longfellow and TJ days with a smile. My condolences to all of her family and dear friends. Since the posting of Karen's beautiful note about Jini, some of the lyrics from "The Parting Glass" have been running through my mind: "But since it has so ought to be/By a time to rise and a time to fall/Come fill to me the parting glass/Good night and joy be with you all/Good night and joy be with you all." I wish a good night and joy to all of us who remain and remember.

Chuck and Pat at Turtle Bay on Oahu Hawaii, Sept. 2008. This is one of three turtles that came up onto the beach that afternoon, evidently a rare event according to locals.
