Michelle (she always spelled it that way - even though her mom said she was meant to be called “Mi-Kay-La” -long before that name was popular as it is now), Peggy Merlotti and I were neighborhood friends all through elementary school (Hawthorne) and at TJ.  She had a quiet demeanor but was really pretty funny and we had a lot of good times together.  As Denise Ollander has said we all used to play at Hawthorne field, ride our bikes and play act all sorts of imaginative scenarios in the back yards.  We grew apart in high school but she and Peggy visited me at my first apartment after I married and she was still the sweet, quiet girl of our youth even then.  I am sorry to hear that she passed at such a young age.
