Time again to toast Larry Morphis for his BDay! He, Marvin and I had breakfast together a few weeks ago and it was a good time for me. Not sure about them. We just lied and denied abut our high school escapades and dredged up old memories. I hope you Classmates have others with which you kept in contact to talk about the old days. We all have seen good and bad changes with the World and our country in our 70+ years. Anyway, a toast to Larry with many more to come. Take care you all.  Manuel

Classmates, I am saddened to inform you Patricia McCain (Crawford) passed away earlier this year. I found out at the Oldtimers Picnic. I was going to let you all know at the end of the month during my BDay celebrations but she deserves a special tribute in her memory. Her BDay is this month. To her memory I will tip a glass. Manuel

Time to remember the BDays of Classmates and remember those who are no longer with us in this physical world. Happy BDay to Glenda Killingsworth (Ursua), Carolyn Kirkendoll (Johnson), Roger Longcrier, Steve Helms, Paul Moore, Tom Thompson, Ray Koehler, and Bob Warner. As I write this post, I sometimes will remember some situation or contact I have had with one or more person we are commemorating and smile. When you  read these posts, I hope you do also. You all take care.  Manuel

Well folks, I did it AGAIN. I was remiss in celebrating the BDay of Glenda Steelman (Lewis)! I am very sorry Glenda. To celebrate and punish myself, I will have to imbibe in at least two of my favorite drinks. I suggest the rest of you Classmates do the same. I hope every one is doing well. Manuel

I thought I would surprise everyone by giving the BDay salutations on time! I will try to make a habit of this but I make no promises. Happy BDay to Debbie White (Taylor), Susan Gilliland (Close) and my old Fir Street neighbor, Marvin Williams! Let us all tip a glass to these Classmates on their special BDay month. I hope the Christmas/Holiday Season will continue to bestow the Joy you have enjoyed during this year and end any trials and tribulations you have endured. Merry Christmas!!  Manuel

Two words, "Crass Commercialism." I will say no more.

This month we celebrate the BDays of Mary Herrera (Burns) and Dae Lantz. Dae is doing well. I saw him earlier this month. I hope the same is true with Mary. Tip a glass to celebrate them. I hope all of you are doing well to bring in this New Year. Celebrate you have made it this far in life after enduring bumps, bruises, set backs and disappointments. Celebrate the good times you remember and hug your Family members whenever possible.

Happy New Year to you all.   Manuel

Greetings Classmates! If you are wondering why I am bothering you all at this time, it is for a good reason.

It is time to plan for our 50th Class Reunion! I know you are thinking, I have finally gone over the edge and lost my mind. You may be right. Our 50th was during 2020 and it is now 2025, how can that be!? Well, Covid raised it's ugly head and disrupted everyones plans. Although it is still a specter in the background, it is much safer for people of our middle age years to get together for whatever reason. So we might as well do it and have our Reunion.

Debbie, Yolanda, Janette and possibly Glenda are trying to get preliminary plans started with Dae and I along for moral/immoral support. They need to know how many will attend to find a place to have it and everything else involved with such events. They need to know if addresses, Email, phone numbers have changed to update your information and to contact everyone interested. There may be some Classmates who do not read the website and so miss out on my words of wisdom every month so if you can contact those wayward Classmates, please do so and give them any information you can.

We can all be reached on this website or call me on my landline, old school, 661-822-8163. Leave a message if I do not answer because sometimes I do not hear the phone ring. I do have an appointment to new hearing aids. Manuel

Classmates, me again. I lose track of time as I grow older so I just realized THIS year would be our 55th Reunion anyway! But you probably already figured that out.

We are coordinating the Reunion with the Old Timers Picnic held in August on a Sunday at the City Park. To become an official Old Timer and receive a free meal, you need to contact Claudia Elliott at tehachapioldtimers@gmail.com.

More information will be forth coming.  Manuel

I am back with the monthly BDay greetings and am actually on time or at least not late. Post it notes work very well and since I have bought stock in the company, they are cheaper for me to use every day as a reminder for everything I now have to remember. The trials and tribulations of old age can be overcome! Now, Happy BDay to Peggy Melton (Selby), Elaine Spellman (Brister), DeAnna Gassaway (Brooks), Dave Edmiston, John Marin and Jim Wright. Tip a glass to their good health! Also, I want to remind you all to start thinking about getting together at the Old Timer's Picnic. Plans are being made in ernest because the 50th Reunion was not celebrated. We have some catching up to do.

Hello Classmates! It is the end of the month to celebrate the BDays of Shirley McCain (Nelson), Susan Willard (Whitton/McPhee), Janette Sanders (Ashworth) and Kathy Bermudez (Forcum). Tip or lift a libation of your choice to these Classmates as I will.

On another note. Letters have gone out to let everyone know of the that plus 5 Reunion to be celebrated this year. Because of Coved we did not do the 50th so now is a good time to get together. If you did not receive a letter or know of anyone who did not, it is because the Committee does not have a current address for you. The committee has received responses already. If you would like to contact me at 661-972-5561, I will give the information to the committee so you will have all the information to attend the Reunion and the Oldtimers Picnic the next day. This is all in August. Everyone take care and enjoy life. Manuel

Good Morning to all. I trust this Bday Greeting finds all of you doing well. Because of the early greetings, I toast my fellow Bday celebrantes with a cup of hot coffee. Happy BDay to Mary Ursua, Dennis Yearton and Russ Ary! I hope to see you all at the Reunion and Picnic the next day. If any of you classmates talk to any others, make sure to mention both events to them. The committee is finding out that email addresses, phone numbers and physical addresses have changed for some Classmates. You all take care and celebrate every day.  Manuel

Raise your beverages to Yolanda Vasquez (Gum)! for her BDay! I have recently seen her and she looks the same as 50+ years ago. If you saw her on the street, you would immediately recognize her. The same could be said of all the Classmates I have seen over the years and lately. This is good that we all, well maybe the rest of you, have aged so gracefully. Keep in mind the Reunion and Old Timers Picnic fast approaching. All take care.  Manuel

Well folks, it is the end of the month and time to celebrate Classmate Larry Morphis' BDay. This year is unique. I celebrate his BDay today with a tip of my/our favorite beverage. With any luck, I can tip a glass/bottle with him tomorrow at Don Perico's for our get together. Then I can tip a glass with him at the 50+5 Reunion at Janette's house. Then I can tip a bottle of water with him at the Old Timer's Picnic at City Park. You may wonder why I said a "bottle" of water. It is because a previous illustrious regime of city council members voted to ban alcohol from city park even though it is maintained by Parks and Rec. Later regimes have not changed this ban. Oh, the changes I've seen! Anyway, here is to Larry. I have to go now. The thought of tipping all those beverages is making me a little woozy. You all take care! Manuel

Time again to celebrate the very special days of this month's classmates BDays.

Happy BDay to Roger Longcrier, Carolyn Kirkendoll, Bob Warner, Steve Helms, Paul Moore, Tom Thompson and Ray Koehler. This is probably the month with the most BDays! Tip one to each separately or one to all at the same time, depends on your tolerance and inclination. Old Guy here is partial to one for all.

The 50+5 Reunion was small but fun for those in attendance. The Old Timers Picnic the next day brought together more of the other classes. It seemed to me there were more people at the Picnic this year than the others I have attended. You all take care and celebrate every day you can. Manuel

This month brings joy and sadness. We celebrate the BDay of Sheila McTyre (Williams). Tip a glass to her special day!

This month also brings sadness. Roger Longcrier has passed away. I remember Roger in high school as a smiling , laughing individual but no pushover. When I returned to Tehachapi, he was that same person. I will tip a glass to my friend.

This year I am on Time! Happy BDay to Glenda Steelman (Lewis)! I hope you receive this Salutaion in good Spirits! Get it, Halloween! Tracie says I only crack myself up. I hope you all are in good health. Feel free to leave a message anytime.

Hope you all are in good frame of mind. Time to celebrate the BDays of Susan Gilliland (Close), Debbie White (Taylor) and Marvin Williams! Tip a glass to their memory and good health. This a good time, actually any time is good, to think back to our younger days. To remember good times and times when you would have acted differently because of what you have learned in the following years. Stay safe. Manuel

Happy BDay to Mary Herrera (Burns) and Dae Lantz. Tip a glass or two in their honor. I sincerely hope you are all doing well as we end this year. It can be the time we reflect on our past, contemplate our future or just do both! Even with my aches and pains, I am grateful to have lived this long to see and experience the advances made in technology, health and all the other sciences. I am most grateful to be around to experience my Family growing. Happy New Year to you all. Manuel

Good Morning all. It is the end of the month and time to celebrate BDays. Jim Wright had his 70th plus BDay this month so we should celebrate this with a big "hurrah" and a drink of your favorite libation. Can Milk of Magnesium be considered a libation? The topics that pop into my mind at this age scare even me! Everyone take care and stay healthy! Manuel

Good Morning or Good Afternoon, depending on your time zone, Classmates. I hope this greeting finds you all in advanced age good health. I know I felt better when I was half the age I am now but looking back on how I abused my body then, I'm not doing all that bad. Enough about me. Happy BDay to DeAnna Gassaway (Brooks), Peggy Melton (Selby), Elaine Spellman (Brister), Dave Edmiston, Sally Warfield and John Marin. A toast to them on their special day. Manuel

A note to anyone who might has Sally's email. It seems she might have changed it or decided to withdraw from the site. If anyone knows anything, please let me know.

Good morning from California, land of fires, floods and the highest gas taxes in the nation. I know we are all feeling the cost of gas prices  so I choose to stay home. This is something I chose to do years ago though so my life is business as usual! Now to serious business. Happy BDay to Shirley McCain (Nelson), Kathy Bermudez (Forcum), Janette Sanders (Ashworth), and Susan Willard (Whitton/McPhee). Celebrate with your loved ones on your BDay and every day in between. Take care everyone.

Good Morning to all! Today we wish a Happy BDay to Mary Ursua, Russ Ary and Dennis Yearton! This is early for me so I will tip a cup of coffee or two, just to get started. One cup will be to get my body started and the second will be to get my mind started. Being age challenged will do that to me. Maybe I am not age challenged because I have so many "ages" under my belt. Maybe my second cup has not kicked in yet. Anyway Happy BDay to you all.

On another note, I noticed I have several messages kicked back because Classmates Email have changed. If you know any of these Classmates who have changed their Email and did not change it in this website, let them know or notify me of the new change. Take care all, Manuel

OK, I am not as late as I usually am but in my defense the World Cup is on and the 250th celebration of the USA is almost upon us. Plus my mind wanders a little more than it used to. BUT, I eventually remembered to wish a Happy BDay to Yolanda Vasquez (Gum)! Have a good one and share the day with us by having a glass of wine. Whiskey would be better but I would not want you to hurt yourself. You all take care and have a celebratory 4th of July. Manuel

I am not very late with this BDay greeting! A tip of your favorite beverage to are good friend Larry Morphis! Hopefully I will see him at the Oldtimer's Picnic tomorrow and catch up on the last year happenings and also catch up on other Oldtimer's happenings. Going with Kathy Bermudez Forcum and husband Steve to make sure their property is still up in the mountains south of Highline.  If you don't see us at the picnic, send out search and rescue! You all have a good day and make sure you attend all your doctor's appointments! I'm finding out those appointments are a major part of my month. Manuel
