Thanks, Paul.  Kathy and I are leaving for Mississippi tomorrow morning and will return just before the 20th.  But in May or June, I may be able to make to Toledo for a day or two.  Cheers!

Carol Buckenmeyer were discussing a picture of our First Communion at St. Teresa's on Oct. 30, 1955.  Not sure why the day before Halloween but maybe they wanted it done before Advent.  Anyway there are, I believe, a number of CCHS 66 in this photo with me but I could be wrong, I was very young:

Jean Emlinger (Bohland)

Mary Lynn Wilhelm (Tice)

I'm not in that picture John. I went to St. Teresa's for 1st grade only. Then OLPH 2nd -  8th grade.

Oh yea! Now I remember your going away party.  Lots of Strohs and 7-7's.  Do you remember your 1st grade teacher's name? Mine was St. Margaret Ann.

I really didn't remember but after you refreshed my memory it was  (Sr. Margaret Ann).

Where was St. Teresa's Church??

St. Teresa's was on Dorr St. west of Smead Ave. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Saint-Teresa-Catholic-Church/142224212477830, across from Hot Dog John's where we ocaissionally attended Mass.  It was an Ursuline school. No surprise as it was on the southern border of Kushwantz and 'Nort of the German 'hood. It had 2-3 classes at every grade level until they built St. Jude's and other factors lessened enrollment.  Had about 20 others graduate with me.

Hi all,   I had Sr. Margaret Ann for first grade at St. Teresa's as well.  Then on to Sr. Theodora for 2nd.  We moved to St. Catherine's Parish in March of 2nd grade.  I had already made my First Communion by the time we moved.  It was pretty cool to be able to go to Communion when the rest of my classmates had to wait until May.    I will try to remember to bring the picture to our luncheon or the reunion.  Carol Buckenmeyer

John, it's not Little Flower that is at Dorr and Olympia Is it?

If not, I was baptized at the old St. Teresa's.

Thanks John

Carol, Looks like we were in the same 2nd grade also.  I had Sr. Theodora for the 4th grade also.

Sue, It is not Little Flower which is further west on Dorr St.  You must have been born afore me as I don't remember reading about your baptism in the bulletin. smiley

Yep, Sue, you got me by 3 months.  I think Fr. Kennedy was the Pastor then.

Just wanted to let the rest of CCHS '66 know my biorhythms for our 50th Reunion. Appears that I will be in good shape physically, an emotional wreck so I will bring two handkerchiefs, and only at 10% of my intellectual abilities which some of you may not even notice.636086781980682000_graf.jpg (700×400)

I was at St Theresa in the second grade.  I remember being the smallest boy in the class so that is probably me in the middle of the front row, the second boy from the girls.

Well, I hate when I see an old person and I realize that I'm looking in the mirror!

I had a great time at the September luncheon which is the 1st time I ever ate at a Packo’s other than the original in which I could be found on many fall Saturdays with my Brother, Tom/Duke Blakowski and Mike ‘Finns’ Michalak, drinking Strohs and watching NCAA football.  “but that’s not what I came to tell you about.  I came to talk about the” memories.  The ones that we do remember as y’all have been posting and the ones that might be failing a bit like mine.

It was apparent to me at the luncheon and with many new attendees that I would be saying something like ‘I am sorry but I don’t remember you’ a lot at the reunion.  Hell even knowing the name might not do it as our table experienced at least once.  So please don’t be offended as it has been 50 years since I saw many of you last.  Just respond with something like ‘No problem Claude, I am First Name, NEE (if applicable), and Current Last Name).  Peace out.

I just want to add to John's comment, that yesterday was my favorite ever CCHS luncheon. 57 people showed up and it was  like the room was electrified. I could see the excitement mounting for what is going to be a fabulous weekend and a wonderful get together. I agree that 50 years is a long time to try and remember everyone's names, but have no fears we're  all going to be wearing our name tags!

The golf outing today was great fun!  Congratulations to the organizers!!

9/20 addendum:  As others have said, this was the greatest reunion ever! Pat and Paul, Mary and Bob, Rose, Gary, Mary Jo, Sandy B., etc. etc. - your attention to detail really made a spectacular weekend, and created new wonderful memories. Thanks to all..and to all the great classmates that came.  Best to all.
