Janet (Jan) Wilkin Chase

Attended Baker University. Became a medical technologist. Married Lyle Chase from Overbrook, KS. Lived in Kansas City for 2 years then joined the Peace Corps and served in Venezuela, South America. Moved to Zambia, Africa and worked for 2 more years. Returned to the USA and settled in Council Bluffs, IA where we started our family and had 2 children, Ben and Amelia.
Became a Unitarian for 11 years, then found Unity, joined it and became a Youth Education Director, Licensed Unity Teacher while working in Omaha, NE as a Medical Technologist. Divorced after youngest went to University of Iowa. Moved to Kansas City to become an ordained Unity Minister. Fell in love with Jim Jensen. Moved to Fort Worth, TX as an associate minister for 2 years. Then took a church in Pomona, CA where Jim and I have lived for 11 years. I am very involved in Interfaith work and Community Service.

My most influential memory was working on a Civil Rights Project with Topeka High kids and Menninger Social Workers. Black and white youth met in various homes including mine and dialogued about various racial issues. Since then I have been passionate about stopping discrimination of all kinds.

I loved my time at THS and can't think of anything I would do differently.

I feel blessed to have kept in touch with a number of my THS friends, including Jim Hoshour.
