I am trying to get in touch with Brent Williams and would appreciate it if anyone has any idea where he might be. Please feel free to e-mail me at JanRayleenWaters@cox.net.

ANN DOCK;
Well now let's see...I am divorced, have two children. Joe is 36 and Stephanie is 30. Geez I'm getting old. I live in Gardena and work at Daniel Freeman Memorial Hospital in out patient surgery as an RN. I also have my paralegal degree. I love animals. In fact I probably have way too many. Not seeing anyone at the moment and that's just fine for right now. Glad to hear from all of you. Ann adock@socal.rr.com
Jannie Ridenour-
Hi...I just stumbled on the THS website...brought back some memories. I have MS and most of my memories are gone (some of the photos looked familiar but having a very hard time remembering). I've lost contact with many old classmates. I used to talk with Barbara Coil (McGinnis) several years ago, but after my divorce and remarriage I lost track of her. Harry and I divorced after 19 years; I then remarried to Jack Meystedt (big mistake) & after 10 years we divorced. I did remarry again in 1997 to Jim Helton. We own a Harley (Heritage Classic) and go riding all the time. I'm the passenger (mainly because of my MS) We just completed a 2,200 mile trip and can't wait to go on another long trip next year. We go on a lot of 2 day trips, but the one we just took was one to remember.
I've been married now going on 31 years. Boy! My wife Melissa (Missy) seems to be content with me since she has not thrown me out yet. As long as I continue to walk that straight and narrow path, I guess I'm doing okay in her book. We have 2 children. My daughter Shawndra is 35 and lives back just outside of Chicago. (yes I know the math doesn't add up quite right)
Shawn is my daughter from my first marriage. Sometimes, things just don't work out. I fought for custody and won. So when Missy and I got married, she was and instant mom of a 5 year old. Wow, short honeymoon. Christopher is our son, who is now 29. He lives local which is great. I say great, because he and his mom are very close. Not a mama's boy, but they are great friends. We go riding, camping, quading, 4-wheelin, you name it. If I can't go, mom doesn't get left behind. That's what I get for marrying a 'tomboy'. I wouldn't want it any other way.
You might remember when you knew me in high school I was working in a supermarket. Well, I am still working in a supermarket. I was a Store Director for many years, but about 5 years ago I stepped back down out of management. It wasn't fun anymore, so I decided to become just one of the troops. I'm much happier and healthier now. I go in and put in my 8 hours and go home. No more 70 hour weeks.
We have a motor home and get away as often as we can. Just got back off a 2000 mile trip that took in the canyons of Sedona Arizona, the Grand Canyon, Zion, Cedar Breaks and so on. We love to explore area with our jeep and/or our ATV quads. The further away from crowds the better. This past June, we went up into Oregon. The plan was to find 15 waterfalls. We followed the McKenzie, Rouge, and Umpqua rivers. We found 14. Oh well, guess we will have to try again.
It's the simple things in life that keep us going. Enough about me, how about you? Hope to hear from you soon.

I became interested in amateur radio as a result of helping my father recover electronic components from old television sets. Later I built crystal radio sets, strung antennas, built solid state beat frequency oscillators, and was introduced to amateur radio by my good friend "Butch" (Lawrence) Fleming while taking electronic classes at Torrance High. Our high school electronics teacher, Mr. Robert Baker, also a ham, was an inspiration to me.
I was drafted into the US Army in 1968, took basic at Fort Ord and Advanced
Infantry Training at Fort Dix. I was selected for Field Artillery Officer Candidate School and was commissioned a second Lieutenant in March 1969.
During a subsequent assignment I met and married the former Barbara Arlene
Boyette, now W5HKY. I was assigned to Vietnam and while under orders Barbara
and I built a Heathkit HW 101.
While in Vietnam I sponsored a series of MARS stations near Pleiku in 1972,
and operated one from my "hooch" allowing me to run phone patches for the
men and women assigned to II Corps from my quarters.
I acquired my novice license, WN5LMJ, in 1974 while at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
Barbara acquired her novice license, WD5HKY, after we were assigned to Fort
Ord, California. Her mentor was the now famous Art Bell, radio talk show
host.
I was the founder of the Greater Stuttgart Amateur Radio Club in Stuttgart, Germany; co-founder of the Panama Canal Astronomical Society, and founder of the Southwest Oklahoma Astronomical Society.
Today Barbara and I have five children all licensed. Barbara and I each hold an extra class amateur radio license. She tends to the family and is very active with the VHL Family Alliance. I am busy running a new startup
company, OnLine Training, Inc., that provides G.E.D. preparation courses,
continuing education courses for the real estate and insurance industries, and host distance education courses for universities and colleges.
If anyone knows how to contact Robert Baker or Butch Flemming, please let me know. I would like to contact them.
Sundays you will find me on 14.325 Mhz at 1600 UTC for the Micro-computer Net, and on 14.287 Mhz at 2030 UTC for the ASCRA Net.

Dialing back over 2/3 of my life and recalling all the faces...hummm, it just doesn’t work. I attended THS for only my junior and senior years, as my Mother and I beat feet for California from the Chicago area when I was 16, a short step ahead of the creditors, no doubt. I arrived in Torrance the day after my junior year started, and the next day I was in school; a dizzying array of new faces, a totally new culture, lonely, out of place, having absolutely no clue how to survive this strange new world. I gravitated toward basketball, which is the arena from which I might be remembered by some, if at all. Seems all that freakin’ winning we did in those two years left me with a most disproportionate sense of importance, and a heavy dose of arrogance that has only taken me about 25 years to shake. But, thank the Lord, it has finally drawn its last breath. Married the old high school sweetheart (yes, always a bright idea), was a terrible husband, and the tent folded after about 6 years. My ex and children lived in Torrance, and I resettled in the Midwest, mostly in the Chicago area, where I originally come from and now reside. I think the bad marriage and the absolute blur of my two years at THS had left me with an incredible dark void in my life that I have refused to look at. My last visit to Torrance was 1982, and I recognized next to nothing. Prices had jumped ten-fold, and I truly wondered what the heck people did for a living to even survive this puzzle-palace! Always did feel not quite good enough to be in the company of my so-called peers, but I covered that with arrogance and proportionate amount of BS.
So, when I first started peeking into the “classmates” thingie online, it was kinda fun to actually see a name or two that I recognized. However, I have such a hodge-podge life of decisions that range from interesting to horrible, that I was quite sure I would never want to make contact with anyone from my THS years. I was just soooooo SURE everyone was a world-beater, and CEO of something or other.
Anyway...too late for the “make a long story short’ baloney, eh? The Lord entered my life about 2 years ago. If I would have but one regret from a lengthy sting of bad decisions, it would be a regret that I was not open to Him long, long ago. And, with His help, I have been able to open my eyes to things I could not bear to look at; one of which was the me that used to be. With His able guidance, I have been able to forgive myself for all the hurting of others I have done behind my false bravado and arrogance of the past. Amends to those I have hurt can probably never be effected, but I trust He will see to it that those messages get where they need to go.
I have so enjoyed the incredible work you have done in bringing names and faces back into my environment, Elissa. In some way, a time in my life that was sooooo painful is beginning to be not quite so hurting, and there are actually some smiles of some fond remembrances that cross my face. For this, I thank you, Elissa, and what is obviously your willingness to be used by the Lord in this most interesting form of ministry. Please continue to keep me updated as you unearth yet more ‘66 Tartars, and I offer you my thanks and support. Blessings and Sincere Best Wishes!

I just retired from the Postal Service on May 31. I was a mailman in Oxnard for 29 years. It is sure nice not to have a schedule to meet!
Thanks for getting in touch with me, Lee ameritus5@msn.com
Pam Blakley (Ragsdale) kept telling me about this website, so I finally decided to check it out. A great avenue for connecting with old friends!
And speaking of old, well seasoned, friends, Judi, Cheryl, Pam and I keep in touch regularly. I live in Hawaii - on Oahu (at Diamond Head) and love every day I am here.
I retired from university teaching a year ago and am now consulting with the university of Hawaii and the Department of Education here. In addition, I work on the mainland and in American Samoa. Believe it or not, I am reliving my childhood by learning to surf and enjoying Jimmy Buffet's music now more than ever. For awhile, I wanted to come back as Jimmy Buffet and Martha Stewart all in one, but looks as though she is cooked! I am looking forward to her new book on Jail House decor.
Hey, are any of you Elk members yet? The Elks Club here is great!
Keep in touch and may the aloha spirit be in your hearts!

Sorry I did not respond sooner but I have been extremely busy finishing up a move. We bought a house a year ago, spent months getting it ready to live in, moving, getting my new shop ready to move into, moving again, getting the old house ready to sell, and finally selling it just before Christmas and vacation out of town.
I am glad to be in touch with school mates and happy that you are doing this outside of Classmates.com, which is a mixed bag at best.
I live with my wife Leslie, and 2 daughters, Cora, 12 and Amalia 8, in Boonville, CA. Boonville is in the Anderson Valley in the middle of Mendocino County, in Northern California. it is, or has become over the last few decades, known for vineyards, and some very fine wines are bottled here. WE are about 30 miles driving from the Coast, and 120 miles north of San Francisco.
My wife is a school teacher. I work at l home restoring and building period woodwinds. i do lots of 18th and 19th century flute restorations and have built Mozart period clarinets, bassoon, flutes, and so on. I am now focusing mainly on Irish bagpipes (which I play) and am building sets as well as restoring antique sets.
I have continued to play music over the years and do a fair amount of performing, mostly for my own community in recent years thought I have toured but not much sine the 80’s. I have been playing Cuban and Puerto Rican music for some years and have for the last 2 years been playing with an 8 piece band going by the name IMAMBO THIS! We have recently been working on a CD and nearly have a finished product.

I actually remember a lot of the names and am looking forward to going through the yearbook. I think it would be fun to see then and now photos. Of course, Kathleen and I still look the same. I live about an hour from Boise, Idaho in the mountains. Work part time as an RN at a nurse triage call center. I have 2 gorgeous granddaughters and have been married to my current husband, Walter, for 5 years. In my spare time I do some painting and am taking a course in graphic arts.
Elissa Davey -
I live in Vista, CA near San Diego. I am the founder of Garden of Innocence National, which provides dignified burials for abandoned children. My non profit has buried 400 infants since I started the garden in 1999. I became the guardian for children abandoned in death at hospitals and also infants found in the trash. (see link at www.gardenofinnocence.org ) . I am currently working on GOI National to help people in other states start Gardens there. I currently handle 27 counties in California and one in St. Louis and Oregon. There are 11 active gardens now and five more coming on.
Im also a Realtor and Notary.
My other great love is genealogy. I help others get started and enjoy the quest. Currently I have tracked my family back to 1400 & a bit beyond. I returned to England to 'walk where they walked". Was totally awesome. I felt like I had come home. In October I am taking my sister, Pamela, to Maine and we plan to travel to Vermont and New Hampshire to see where our grandparents lived in 1785. My ggggggggrandfather, Azarias Williams, was the first person in American to give a land grant to colleges. He donated much of his land to the University of Vermont. Google "Penelope Stout" to see the struggle one of my grandmothers fought to come to America. Fascinating! When not working on these two projects, I enjoy my two sons Michael who owns his own plumbing company EcoStar Services and Dominic who also owns his own company bidding on government jobs and is also commercial Realtor. Both sons live here in the area.
I also have six grandchildren and two great grandchildren and love every moment with them.
My hobby is genealogy and helping people find their family trees.

LOOKING OVER MY SHOULDER TO SEE THE TIDE
Looking over my shoulder to see the tide
The smoke of shadows that linger on the horizon
The memory of shattered mirrors
And scuff marks in the hall.
I remember the tears of parting
The highway blues
Bob Dylan on the radio when the night was young
Those songs that shouted poetry into my ears
Inviting like a lover under the moon
My shoes were new
The friction of the road had not yet etched their story
Looking over my shoulder to see the tide
That gathers at my bare feet soothing the burn
Of long journeys never refused.
May you all be enriched by the wisdom of lives well lived!

I am not sure where to start. I so not remember much about high school, but it would be nice to reconnect. I have some trouble remembering who my friends were; I guess this could be due to the amount of years that have gone by. I guess it could also be due to the amount of years that have gone by. I guess it could also because I had a brain tumor, I had surgery to de-bulk the tumor and radiation therapy to finish the tumor off. Unfortunately, the area of the brain that controls memory was effected (minimally) by the radiation. I have a little trouble remembering the distant past. I am an RN and I work at Loma Linda University Medical Center (LLUMC). I have a bachelors degree in nursing. My main job there is in the Proton Radiation Center; occasionally I work weekends as the Administrative Supervisor for LLUMC. As for my personal life, my job keeps me very busy. I am divorced, have three children and 11 grandchildren with one more grandchild due in June. The grandchildren tend to keep most of my free time busy. During my nursing career, I have worked in several different countries. Working in other countries has helped me travel extensively. I really enjoyed the opportunity to live in different cultures. I have a friend that likes to travel so every year we pick a place on the globe and visit there. Dee Elkhiar@msn.com

I was med-evacked to Philadelphia and spent the rest of my time in the Corps at Camp Pendelton and The marine Barracks at long Beach Naval Base. I was a single parent for many years and remarried 11 years ago, we have three children all together, a son 32, a daughter 32 and a daughter 30. We have seven grand children ranging in age from 13 to 1.5 years old. We move around a great deal due to the employment and do enjoy meeting new people. I did hear from patty Perlawitz-Peterson a year or so back and then lost touch. I also wrote and received a couple of emails from George Williams but that has been the extent of my contact with the Torrance High classes. “Mouse” who loved to surf!!!!!! rwott@hotmail.com

TED DUNCAN:
Greetings to all; Ah yes...THE ALBUMS “Did any of us like our hair? Or glasses??” I was too skinny and my ears were to big. I felt awkward in the emerging man’s body. Now I’m getting old, a bit over weight and not only do I still have big ears, but hair has begun to grow on them. I have to laugh because such perceptions of the self disappeared long ago. A couple years ago my father gave me my High School annuals that he had saved all these years. I had thought them extinct! So many roads that have been traveled over the years that much of memories souvenirs have slipped away. As names of found classmates come in, I match them with a faces that I remember, some that sat across from me in homeroom or math, some that were just in passing between bells in the hallway. All of us looking forward into an unknowable future, trying hard not to look back because what was ahead was much larger then what lay behind and the unknown beckoned us to leap into our destinies. I wanted to be a poet and an artist, I wanted to create new realities of the imagination. Somewhere along the way I discovered that I already was a poet because that sensibility was a part of the fabric of my being long before I set out on my fantastic voyage. I hope that all on this list can reflect back on all that lays between the pages of then and now with the satisfaction of living life to it’s fullest, good or bad. There has been for me a bit of both and I would not have traded any of it. To those classmates that did not make the long journey because theirs was to be a short one I would like to say “We remember you well”.
Sandi Welsh ( Scott):
I married Ray Scott in 1969. We have 6 children aged 17 through 32. I have 6 and almost 7 grandkids & live in Orem, UT. I went back to college and graduated in 1989 and became an occupational therapist. It’s a career that I love and that suits me well. My family is very involved with basketball although I can barely walk and chew gum at the same time. My husband has coached professionally for women and played in Europe. He now teaches and coaches in high school. My second oldest daughter is the new head coach (the youngest head coach in the NCAA) at Utah State University and has played in the WNBA. My oldest son currently is playing in college and has potential to play in the pros upon graduation. We spend a lot of our time following the games of our kids and soon will follow our grandkids. My other children are busy with school, careers and families all across the states. I was excited when one of my kids turned me onto the classmates web site. There were several friends I’d known in school that I wondered about. Many I was concerned about due to the draft and good old Viet Nam. I was excited to see so many names of friends. I hope the world treats you well and that joy often finds you. ctrscott1@cs.com
