Hello Elissa and Friends,

Thanks for taking the time to post this belated loss of one of my closest friends throughout my young life.

I first met Jim in Kindergarten.  We became playmates at an early age.  I spent a lot of summer time at his parents home.
His mom would shuttle me home on rainy days.  They had a car, we did not.
It was great fun for me to go to his place.  He had his own room, a backyard and all that comes with that.
The little apartment that my mom and I lived in was not conducive to having friends over.  The apartments were so small and so close together that the little old ladies living in the adjacent ones near by would not tolerate the going's on of young boys and the noise that accompanies that.
Jims father was a bus driver for the Torrance Unified School Dist.  His mother was a stay at home mom, as was traditional in that era.

Jim and I stayed close even after high school.  My second wife, Missy, still remembers one our first dates that we spent with Jim and his wife, Barbara, when we went to Majic Mountain, spent the day and closed it up.  Missy being 9 years younger than I, was hard for Jim and Barb to understand.
At that point in our young lives, 9 years was a big thing to some people.  Today, those 9 years have melted away.  However, when I reflect back on that period of my life, it still brings a smile to me face.
I remember going to their house for dinner.  It was a meal from the "Yellow Basket".  Jim and Barbara thought it was the best place in town, in particular their fries.

When Missy and I moved from Torrance to Auburn in 1980, I lost contact with Jim and Barb (as well as many others over time).
Life does change old habits.
I've been trying to find Jim over the last couple of years.  I heard that he had passed, but was unable to confirm anything.

Again I thank you for the posting of this email for now I can have closure in my quest.
