I was introduced to NZ while working for the 109th NY Air National Guard. The guard provides the airlift support for the US National Science Foundation in Antarctica and Christchurch is known as "The Gateway to the Ice". Moved to Christchurch in July 2000. I am now married to a "kiwi" and live in a small farming town called Rangiora just north of Chch. I now work as a civilian for the Antarctic Program at the airport.

A year on from our two major earthquakes (Sept 2010 & Feb 2011)that destroyed most of our beautiful city and things are not much better. Thousands are being forced from their homes and the areas affected are torn down. There are not enough homes to buy or rent and the insurance companies are playing hardball (and for some so is the government). I think of my family and that still makes life good!

Retired 2019, worked a little longer then I thought i would, but I did enjoy my work.

So sorry to hear this. Jack and I were good friends, he lived close by on South Lake Ave and I was on Rankin Ave. Like everyone else we lost touch after HS, but always remember Jack as a real nice guy. RIP mate!

Retirement is treating me pretty good. Golf 4 days a week at a variety of courses, working in my shop, beautiful wife, lovely old home, beautiful country. Yep life is good as I hope it is for all of you as well.
