Terry Bloom Concannon

Graduated in 1975 with a BSN. Worked in Peds ICU and 3E at UMC from graduation until 1977, Head Nurse Allergy at TMC Chest Clinic 2ys and married Kevin in 1978. He began his junior year in Med School at the U of A. Had our first child August 1979 and moved to Phoenix in 1980 for Kevin’s three year Residency. We had our second and third child there and moved back to Tucson by for Kevin to begin his Pediatrician career. Our last two children were born in Tucson. In 1998 I went back to work for the rest of my nursing career. Worked in Asthma and Allergy 2 years, worked as a Research Nurse for 5 years at TOI, Senior Research Nurse at the Cancer Center in Melanoma and Sarcoma for 5 yr, Head Islet Cell Transplant Nurse at UMC for 2yr and Transplant Coordinator for Pre- Kidney transplant for 1 yr. To complete my career I worked as an RN Consultant for my son Kevin Jr’s assisted home care for Trach and vent patients, the first and only one of its kind in Tucson. Also worked for his three other assisted living homes in Sahuarita. Retired completely a year ago so I could spend time with our growing family of almost 12!

During my high school days I was on Student Counsel and one of the things I was in charge of was the football players run threw signs at home games. I also was in the band as a twirler so could not be in charge of the actual run threw as I was on the field with the band cheering for the players as they ran threw the signs. So I put a message in the school Bulletin for an artist to come help me make the run thew sign. A classmate of ours came to help and he was magic! He took a pencil and drew in seconds the greatest pictures of our badger mascot beating up the mascot of the opposing team. All I had to do was paint it and make sure it dried and was rolled up on 2 big wooden sticks before Friday night’s game, to give to the cheerleaders. I was so very proud of what he made and everyone was so impressed with our signs of butcher paper. We were the talk of the town for all four years of our high school football. We even took them to State which we won during our years at Tucson High. He is a famous artist of medical books and I believe his name was Chip Hale.
