Mark Irwin Rens, 59, of Little Rock went to be with the Lord, Thursday, September 8, 2011. He was born August 10, 1952 at Waupun, Wisconsin, a son of Willard and Marjorie Rens. He graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor's of Science degree in 1974 and from University of Arizona Medical School in 1978. He completed his residency at Methodist Hospital in Dallas. He practiced medicine as a dedicated physician at Baptist Health in North Little Rock, and was a faithful husband, father and grandfather, and committed follower of Christ who is rejoicing in Heaven with his Savior.

He served as an elder at Redeemer Community Church. His desire for his own life and others was that they would be “radically passionate about their faith – believers who worship equally with their head and their heart, who focus that worship on the person of Jesus Christ, and who have a burning desire to share that joy with the world.”

Survivors include his wife, Kathy; three children, Jennifer Mayes of Carbondale, Colorado, Aaron Lee of Reno, Nevada, and Angela Miramontes of Whittier, California; four grandchildren; a brother, Bill Rens and his wife Everly of Tucson, Arizona; two sisters, Norma Greenfield and Edith Rens both of Redlands, California.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, September 11 at Redeemer Community Church, 9108 Rodney Parham Road, Little Rock. A reception for family and friends will follow at the church.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Mark Rens Memorial Fund, Redeemer Community Church, c/o Bob Lepine, 11114 Rocky Valley Drive, Little Rock, Arkansas 72212.
