Comments:

After college at Texas Tech, I joined the Army and served 7 years on active duty as an officer in Military Intelligence. I got off active duty to attend law school at the University of Montana in Missoula. After receiving my law degree, I branch transferred to the JAG Corps and served another 17 years in the Army Reserves, retiring in 2000 with 24 years of service. I worked in private practice in Lubbock for several years after graduation from law school. I started working with the Texas Attorney General's Child Support Enforcement Division in 1989. I became the Senior Regional Attorney for Region 1 in 1992 and served in that position until I retired the end of August 2009. My husband is also retired, but our daughter, Kathryn, is a Junior at Lubbock High (we started late) so we are busy with her schedule. Was also busy taking care of Daddy after his stroke in August 2009 until his death in November 2009. Spent last year getting the house in Tulia ready to sell and getting it sold then finishing up his estate. Am just now beginning to feel like I'm retired. I'm active in Girl Scouting, Daughters of the American Revolution, Youth Corps and teaching Kindergarten CCE (Sunday School) at St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church. I've been teaching the kids about 15 years. I stick with the Kindergarten age group because I still know more than they do at that age. I'm starting to wonder how I had time to work all those years!

School Story:

I have fond memories of growing up in Tulia and attending the Tulia Schools. I'm amazed at what a good education we received - along with a solid moral and ethical base. I enjoyed my classes (except Chemistry and Physics) and my teachers. Who can forget the stimulating Algebra classes with Earl Cox? I don't remember much math from his classes but I do remember him telling us about about weevils in cream of wheat looking like raisins. Also had fun in Homemaking with JoBeth. Not sure Mrs. Edwards and Mrs. Barnett had as much fun teaching us! It was a good time all in all.
