Well, I may be not able to come. I work on a lot of Saturday evenings~my work week is different from everyone elses. I know that I'm working the 1st three Saturdays in Nov....uuugggh!
Update: - Dad is still in the Surgical ICU. Overall the surgery was successful, in a manner of speaking. Unfortunately, while repairing/replacing the aorta, they had to clamp off a portion of his spinal cord. This is what caused his paralysis. Mom and Dad knew this was a possible complication all along. They just didn't share with the rest of us. It may or may not be permanent.
Word to the Wise...When it's our turn to be the parents of adult children, I pray that we'll communicate with them as adults. Just something to think about.
For all you guys with trick or treaters--come on down to Trinity's trunk r treat. Lots of safe candy, and you get to see me as Crookshanks the cat (for all you Harry Potter fans). Our Yaris is dressed up as a lady bug too.
I thank you all for your prayers. Had some set backs today. Dad had to be put back on the respirator. They sedated him and said he needed it for a couple of days. His body was just working too hard. Still no movement from the waist down. They said everyday that goes by without movement is less hopeful. Keep up with the prayers, please. I greatly appreciate it.
Lori--lots of hugs and prayers for you and your daddy. Hang in there.
I uploaded lots of pictures for everyone to check out.
I swear my dogs have to be the dumbest animals ever, or else total gluttons for punishment. Our friend, Flower the Skunk, made a showing again, and apparently Raja and Tilly didn't learn their lesson the first time. We could smell them before we even hit the driveway tonight. YUCK!
Lori-we are continuing to pray for your dad & your family. We know that God can do anything, no matter what the doctors say, so be strong and He will see you through all of this. We love you guys!
I posted some pictures of the parade. Sorry it took me so long. I came home to a very sick baby who had developed an ear infection over the weekend. 104 temps are no fun!
Cherri: This picture of Nikolas (sp?) with the clowns is up there
Kelly - My Nikolas is spelled with the o. Cherri's is Niklas (with no o).
Thanks for the prayers for Dad. He had a rough night last night and day today. The paralysis is still the same. The conversations about retro fitting the house and such happened today. But first we have to get him breathing on his own. He also has a touch of pneumonia too.
He wrote a message to us today asking for 2 things. Tell the truth and pray. He wants people to know whats going on with him and to pray for him too.
good morning, or afternoon, or whatever it actually is. just wanted to let everyone know, i still miss you. its only been a week, and i feel like its been forever. we really need to keep in touch, and not wait for reunions. life is too short.
If you still have pictures you want to include on the dvd send them to me (or Rayanne but I think she's overwhelmed already. :) ) If you don't have a way to scan them, mail them to me and I'll send them back after I scan them. My address is on my profile. If you have negatives or slides, I can scan those too! I've got really good software and can even get rid of the dreaded red eye and brighten dark pictures.
Good Morning all - Not a Dad update. Just wanted to take a moment to say hello to everyone. There seems to be a lack of conversation happening. I hope that now that the reunion is over that it doesn't mean that there will be less interest.
Please tell me I'm wrong!!
I'll start - Halloween was fun. Tiring but fun. Benjamin was a stick figure. I'll have to get the pictures loaded up soon. He was dressed in a black sweatsuit with a hoodie and I taped a stick figure on him (front and back) with bright yellow duck tape. He and 4 of his friends we're a stick figure gang. And then Nikolas just wanted to be "something", that's it, just "something". All he wanted me to do was to put a big question mark on his front and back. He wore regular street clothes. It was cute.
What did everyone elses kids do?? And the adults too. I was a lady pirate, and NO I don't have a picture.
Come on share. Lurkers too!!! Great costumes?? Don't even have to be in your house.
One of our neighbors little four year old son was Wall-E. It was adorable. His grandma made the costume. She painted a box. It was sooooooooo cute!!
(And thanks for prayers. I'll send updates later.)
okay, okay, i have posted some pictures for everyone to see. i only put a few on here, out of over 200. hope you all enjoy. if you checked them out last night, you might want to look again, i put more on this morning.
Andrew and I did not go out Friday for the candy thing, we had football. We won and are going to the playoffs for the frist time in 11 years. We are so happy.
Cory leaves in 14 days. Lori, he his coming your way. While we are praying, send some up for me, I don't know how I am going to handle him leaving. Aswell as him being away from home.
Thought I would post today- Trunk-or-treat was great! Stacy looked awesome in her cat costume and the Yaris was an adorable lady bug! Lots of kids & lots of candy!
Lori- please tell your Dad that I pray for him every time he comes to mind- which is often
Everyone- Damon & Tyler (Joyce's nephew) had a friend and teammate pass away this morning. He was assaulted after a soccer game on Saturday (not a game with our team but a men's league game so our boys weren't there)and died from head trauma. Please keep this family and the boys on their team in your prayers.
Robin~Eddie went to school with Brandon and our kids in the youth. Brandon didn't know him but, a lot of our kids in the church did and they are really having a hard time with his death. It was a tragedy and they are so angry....please pray for them to be able to deal with this in a way that is healthy for them and gives them peace. I will keep Damon and Tyler in my prayers.
Lori~I am praying for you and your Dad! Much love girly!!!
Donna just keep in mind you have a lot of friend that will be here for you when you are having a hard time. I was in your place a year ago with Miky. You will be so proud of him.
