okay, here is something. thanksgiving is next week, and im sure there is something about dressing, or some dressing that everyone dislikes. example: my grandmother, likes to put the giblets in hers, and i really dont like to find little critters in my dressing. ewwwwww. whos next. i know im not the only one.

Wow! I just got out of kindergarten. It was better 33 years ago. I was just there for a half a day, but that is enough.

I can't get past the color of dressing, that green color and it smells very bad at least my mom's does. But we will not tell her. RIGHT!!!!!

Oh I am so telling your mom Donna. Scott is making me make Stove Top as his Aunt brings dressing with Hard Boiled Eggs in it. Now Scott and I have been married almost 12 years and can I tell you the last time I was allowed to boil an egg in the house? 1997. Needless to say, I'll be making him some Stove Top.

Hello everyone,
I personally like Thanksgiving, and all the food, even the dressing. I love keeping up the old tradition of having all the family gathering to eat and eat and eat. To watch a football game, nap, and look through all the ads in the paper.
I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving this year, even if it is just spent relaxing with a book and hot chocolate. Maybe even catching up on some sleep or going to see a great movie.

Ummmmm - stuffing. I'm with Scott. Stove Top all the way!! Homemade is good too but not with any critters or eggs. Just bread and veggies and it can't be mushy.

Our Thanksgiving this year is going to be a bit different. My side of the family is kind of on our own. Mom will be at the hospital with dad. He is having a rough time of it. Dieter's brother will come in from Michigan and we'll have dinner with his family and Oma too.

You know, Dieter and I usually stress about how we'll fit in both families, now that it will just be one we would much rather have dealt with the stress of juggling around. Count your blessings everyone, you never know when they will change in an instant.

Happy belated b-day, Melissa! Hope you ate lots of cake and ice cream.

My oldest daughter turned 11 on Tuesday. She had some friends over last night for a "Girls Night" party. We did manicures, had pizza, and watched a movie. I'm not really sure they actually watched the movie though. They wound up going outside and jumping on the trampoline and playing hide and seek in the balmy 33 degree weather. The dogs were absolutely in heaven with all those girls playing with them all night. I finally lit our chiminea for them so they could sit by it and warm up without having to come inside. It was fun. It reminded me of times past with good friends (Minus TPing Marty or Scott's yard!).

I had to laugh though because Kristi came over to bring her daughter, and her boys were with her too. They stayed to eat pizza before leaving with my son and littlest daughter to go to Grammie's house. Her oldest, who is only six months younger than Rachel, was SO in his element! We sat back and watched as he mingled with all those girls. What a hoot!! I think he must've thought he'd died and gone to heaven! He knew most of them because he went to school with them before moving to Claremore. Rachel's best friend used to have a HUGE crush on him (and we think she still does, even though she won't admit it), and he liked her too. Love was definitely in the air! So funny to watch them and remember......

Everybody have a happy Thanksgiving next week! Drive (or fly) safely if you're traveling. I think Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, as it is so unassuming and noncommercialized. It seems it is still just about family, friends, and getting together to enjoy each other's company and good food (except for all the stuffing eccentricities, I guess!). Love you guys!

Hey guys, it's been a crazy weekend.

Lori-tell Dieter that Niklas feels his pain -- he broke his arm on Friday afternoon. He and Calvin were messing around in the living room, and Niklas climbed up on the arm of the chair and took a tumble. We are waiting on the doctor to call us back to let us know when he will get his cast (right now, I am hating the fact that we live in a small town). Gonna be a fun Christmas with only one arm! Funny thing was, yesterday at church when people would ask him how he broke his arm, he kept telling them that Calvin pushed me from off the chair. Had to laugh about that one, not that Calvin thinks it's funny at all!

Thanksgiving is looking good, Dale is making the ham, dressing, pecan pie (Emeril's recipe), and a chocolate cake. Have I mentioned how much I love him???

Have a great week everyone, I love ya!

I keep telling him that he went into the wrong business, and he says that if we move closer to Tulsa, he might look into culinary school.

Cherri - He did seem to enjoy cooking with Dieter at the picnic. He had some great recipe ideas too.

We are going to end up with a turkey, a pork roast and a ham for Thanksgiving.

Yum.

My computer is imitating a 286 running Windows 3.1. In other words it's acting like it was made in the early nineties...slow! So, I haven't been on it much. I need to replace a memory chip. Maybe there will be one in my stocking.

On top of that we've all been sick with one thing or another since early October. (Can my computer be catching our viruses too? I run my virus scanner regularly but that wouldn't pick up on human viruses...)

So, I just caught up on a bunch of posts. I haven't been lurking.

I must have heard you all thinking about Mary because I called her earlier this week. Audry Ann was born on 11/12 (that's the day before Mary's birthday!) and weighed in at over 8 pounds. I don't remember the exact number. She was 22 inches long. She's doing fine but Momma Mary had some complications. They started trying to induce the labor on Monday, November 10th and finally preformed a c-section on Wednesday, November 12th. Mary had some problems with infections but she's out of the hospital and as happy as can be. She says it was totally worth it to come home with a beautiful, baby girl.

As for Thanksgiving food. No one in my house likes stuffing. So we just had a small family meal of Turkey, sweet potatoes and green bean casserole. CeCe was disappointed that we messed up her "beans." She likes them straight out of the can. But, she forgave us when we let her have a little oreo pie. :) Normally we go to Shawnee and spend turkey day with my aunt and her family. But since I just went to Tulsa and then to Dallas (for Bill's memorial service) we felt like staying home. Well I should get to bed. We're going to try to get the Christmas decorating done while CeCe's in daycare tomorrow.

Happy late Thanksgiving. Hope everyone is having a great weekend. We are recovering from all the tryptophan and cousins. We had 32 I think was the final count but it was fun. We saw Greg and Audra at Utica and our kids watched Santa arrive.

Safe travels to everyone coming home.

Congrats Mary.
