Okay, I just uploaded a picture of "Cowboy Jim" on my profile. You have to look at the picture and pretend you hear the Lone Ranger theme song in the background.

Hello everyone - Great news!! Dad has been weening off the vent all of last week. His trach was capped off with the vent not even attached and he talked to us!!! We all went up to see him over the weekend. My sister even brought up my 4 year old niece. She climbed up on his bed and sat with him. He just cried. He hadn't seen her at all since he went in for surgery. My boys had been up several times. He looks really good. He still has the paralysis from high waist down but we are SOOOOOO GREATFUL for the progress.

And now on the homefront....it had snowed several times over the past couple of weeks (so we're thinking Yay! White Christmas) until this weekend. It rained and sleeted and rained until most of the snow was gone. Then overnight the temperature plumets and it all FROZE. Now there is ice everywhere. It's 7 degrees. BRrrrrr.

We finally went yesterday and got our Christmas tree. We're hoping to put it up today. It's late for us but we've been busy and I just haven't been into. Thankfully, I'm feeling more in the spirit today!!

Stacy - I LOVE the picture of Jim. That's awesome!!

Ron - Missed you at the "Moonlight Club"....?????

Rayanne - Question for you....Did you name Ainsley after the Ainsley on The West Wing?? Just wondering, I saw that the other day and thought of you. She was my favorite character. Now she's on CSI Miami, but I liked her on West Wing more. Anywho, just a thought.

Pam - I think a bulletproof Vest may be in order too! LOL!

Joyce - Sorry I was rooting for OU too. That was a great game.

Did any of you see the Bears game last Thursday!!! That was a great game too!! They scored in the first 12 seconds of the game and then won in overtime!!

Anywho, enough football. I hope everyone is doing well.

OHHHH I almost forgot!! We have ANOTHER new Sonic. We went on Saturday after visiting Papa in the hospital! We drove in the sleet and rain for an hour to get there!! And had to wait in line, in the sleeting rain. Those poor little teeny poppers we sooooooo cold! Ummmmmm but the grape slush was fantastic! (It doesn't take long to get there from the house. It should only take about 30 minutes, we are VERY excited.)

Okay, just wanted to check in. I have to admit, I've lurked a couple of times but haven't had time to do more than that. Hope to be able to read a BUNCH OF POSTS next time I'm on. Talk to you all again soon, and if I don't talk to any of you before hand....Merry Christmas!!!!

Stacy - Happy Birthday!! Belated though it may be.

12/15/08 01:29 PM #1806

Stacy Koch (Narrin)

Lori--no worries....You're jumping the gun. My birthday isn't until January. You must have accidentally looked at the date on "Profile Updates." That's such great news about your dad too! And as far as weather goes ours has been a little bizarre. It has been EXTREMELY windy for the last few days...some gusts up to 40mph I heard. Yesterday at noon it was 75 degrees (a record high) and by 6:00PM it was 32 degrees and starting to sleet. That's Oklahoma for you though. School was out today because of the slick streets. I was glad. Faith is sick today, and I really didn't want to have to drag her all over creation. We have dubbed today an official "PJ Day" at our abode.

stacy-- its pj day here as well, but im thinking i need like five pairs of them, because i cant get warm enough. maybe i should drag all the blankets out as well.

lori-- you just wanted had to post something way after the game didnt you? well its all good. ill cheer for OU in the big game. we can be having florida win.

pam-- you need to hurry up and get here. maybe we will get snow while your here, since youve already had it there.

rayanne-- you let me know when i can come and see the little village, and that wonderful pink tree. by the way, will santa be leaving her presents under her tree, or your tree? i still think she needs to like orange.

donna-- how goes your kareoke nights? have you managed to get up and sing any yet? just wondering.

i hope everyone has a very merry christmas.

Pamela Coffey (Barnes)

How does the 27th for lunch sound to each of you? I thought it may be better to get together after Christmas than before.

Stacy--Loved the pic of Jim. It is great! Hope you are enjoying a PJ day! I am jealous!

Lori--I am excited about the news of your dad's progress. I pray that he continues to improve.

Joyce--I will call when I get into town. Promise!! I hope it snows while we are there, too!

Merry Christmas everyone!!

Good Morning all! More great news! Dad is OUT of ICU. They have moved him over to rehab. He has now been completely breathing on his own for 4+ days!!! Now the rest of the hard work will begin. What a wonderful Christmas present!!

And it will be a very white Christmas around here. We have about 5 inches on the ground with a big storm coming the next 24 hours. Maybe up to another 10-15 inches by sometime tomorrow! (with ice to our south!) and then 2 more chances for snow before Christmas! If I could send you all snowballs and fun, I would.

Deborah - Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday dear Deborah! Haaa pppy Birrthhh DDaaayyy tooooooooooooo YOOOOOOUUUUUUUUUUUU!!!

Hey everyone, Just wanted to let all of you know my son made it home Tuesday night, he was able to fly home. We think the problem with his eyes may be from a accident he was in when he was four years old. We will not know more until he goes to the Dr. I got up at 3:00am to watch him sleep Wed. morning and no he didn't know. He is doing very well.

Joyce, I have not done any singing yet, working on it.

Lori--WOOHOO! Great news!

Donna--Glad your son is home safe and sound.

Happy birthday, Deb! and belated birthday to Marty and everyone else I've missed. I'm such a slacker!

Okay, Jim just might have to work as an undercover agent because another guy asked if he was Egyptian. It was some vender guy at one of their markets. Jim said he pulled out his drivers license and showed him his picture with a moustache. Maybe he should have grown it back just for this trip! And a beard too!

Good Morning......I have a question for you.....

Have you ever experienced THUNDER SNOW????

It's really cool, guys! Lot's of snow with thunder and lighting!

They cancelled schools for today. (everyone EXCEPT The Chicago Public Schools! they usually don't close, to give the kiddos someplace to go when parents have to work, I guess)

Happy Happy everyone!!

Merry Christmas, everyone.
Lori, I'm so glad to hear about your dad. :)

I got a shiny red new phone for my birthday, and had a good Christmas Eve with my family.

The rest of my news is not as happy.
My favorite uncle (and my surrogate daddy) passed away on Monday morning. He had been valiantly fighting a brain tumor that was very aggressive and kept coming back. He had his last surgery in early October, and hadn't been the same since.

We're all very sad.
Please keep my family in your thoughts and prayers. We will need them. The service is Friday. We were so blessed to have him in our lives...which makes it not easier, but more difficult to tell him good-bye. I can't imagine the world without him.

Thanks, ya'll.
Have a very happy and prosperous New Year!!!
