Claude M. "Mike" Cockrell passed away on August 1, 2020 after suffering a stroke while driving to Pittsburg, TX. the day before with his son. They were delivering auto parts for a business that Mike had started. Fortunately Mike's son, Michael was driving when he noticed that Mike was having a seizure. He pulled over and called an ambulance which took him to Pittsburg. He was later taken to Tyler. The next morning he suffered a major seizure and did not recover.
Mike is survived by his wife Barbara Kay "BK", Michael, one sister, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister and his brother Pat.
I remember meeting Claud for the first time at Birdwell Elementary. He was a great guy and a lot of fun to be around.
It is so hard to see that our days on this earth are fleeting. When we were kids, it seemed that all would remain the same.
I know that the good his life expressed can never be lost and his family can rejoice in his memory, know that he lives in the the Holy Spirit of God forever.
