Barbara Juanita Crosby aged 71, passed away on October 30, 2014 in Spring TX. She is survived by

her loving husband Dean Crosby; daughter Sara Ackerman, and husband Josh, grandchildren Emma and James; son Daniel Floyd, and wife Rebecca, grandchildren Miles, Amelia and Vivian.

She was raised in Tyler, Texas where she graduated from Robert E Lee high school. She then attended Baylor University. She earned her bachelors degree from the University of Houston and a masters degree in English from the University of Texas at Arlington. She then worked as an office manager/facilities manager for British Steel as well as Tenaris. She was also a part time adjunct faculty member in the English department at North Harris Community College in Kingwood. 

She will be remembered as a wonderful mother and great teacher as well as an ardent opera fan and avid bookworm. She will also be remembered for her ability to have stray animals find her wherever

she went in order for her to adopt them into the family. 

Her memorial will be held at 10:30am, Wednesday Nov 5 at Brookside Funeral home. In lieu of customary remembrances, contributions in the name of Barbara Crosby may be made to MD Anderson Cancer Center, ASPCA or Houston Grand Opera.
