Martha Ann Murrell (Bruechner)

                           June 13, 1943  -  April 30, 2012

A memorial service for Martha Murrell Bruechner, 68, of Tyler will be held on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at 4 p.m. at Christ Episcopal Church with the Rev. David Luckenbach officiating.

Mrs. Bruechner passed away April 30, 2012, at her residence.

She was born June 13, 1943, in Denton to Goodwin Boyd and MaryAnn Willison Murrell.

Martha was a graduate of Robert E Lee High School class of 1961. She attended TCU immediately following graduation and then later received her bachelor's degree from Stephen F. Austin State University. Active in the community, Martha was a lady-in-waiting in the 1962 Texas Rose Festival, a member of the Opera Guild and the Junior League of Houston. 

She enjoyed camping and bird hunting and traveled across the United States, participating in Labrador Retriever field trials. An English major, Martha taught school for several years and remained an avid reader of biographies and history. 

Martha was preceded in death by her parents; and her stepfather, Joseph Coy Valentine. 

She is survived by her loving family including her husband of 19 years, Paul Bruechner; and his children, Paul Bruechner Jr., and wife Deedee, Andy Bruechner and wife Lesley, Nonie Caruthers and husband Witt and Sallie Austin and husband Kenny; and by10 grandchildren. She is also survived by brother, Gerald Boyd Murrell and wife Mickey; sisters, Linda Murrell Ott, Marilyn Murrell Meyers and husband Steve, Joy Valentine Haynes and husband Ron, and Anne Valentine Kelly; and by numerous nieces and nephews.
