Ginger was born Virginia Fite to parents Frank and Mary Elizabeth Fite in Beaumont, TX. She spent a lifetime developing her artistic talents. She graduated from high school in Tyler, and continued studying art at Columbia College in Missouri, and TCU in Fort Worth. She married Wilton (Dan) Daniel and they celebrated their 44th anniversary on April 30. Ginger's interest in art led her to start her own interior design business which she operated for several years. But Ginger's true passion was her family and in performing volunteer service. She devoted countless hours as a volunteer for numerous organizations. Scottish Rite Hospital, various PTAs, Dallas Academy, Camp Fire, Kappa Kappa Gamma, Junior League of Dallas, and Junior Charity League are just a few of the organizations that benefited from her involvement. She used her artistic talents for 20 years as "the arts and crafts lady" at Camp Esperanza, a camp for children with cancer located at Camp John Marc, a special camp for special kids. She was also an active member of The Dallas Woman's Club and The Dallas Garden Club.
Ginger was a caring, loving, generous, fun person who touched many lives and her death leaves huge holes in the hearts of many, many people. People loved Ginger's spirit, creativity, sense of humor, but most of all, Ginger herself.
Survivors include her husband; three children, Wilton Daniel, lll, Mary Elizabeth Daniel, and Frank Fite Daniel; three grandchildren, Chris, Hailie, and Desi; a sister Lynn Heines and husband John; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends who Ginger made feel like family. Constantly making or giving gifts to others, Ginger was a passionate advocate of organ donation. She was especially adamant about her final gift, donating any portion of her mortal body that might help other people have better lives.
A memorial service will be at 1:30 pm, Friday, May 21, 2010 in the sanctuary of Highland Park United Methodist Church The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in ginger's name to Camp John Marc, 2824 Swiss Ave., Dallas, TX 75204 or Camp Esperanza, P.O. Box 25317, Dallas, TX 75225 both of which held a special place in Ginger's heart.
