The Motorcycle Awareness Campaign (MAC), is a driving force in ensuring the safety of motorcyclists in Louisiana.
Remember Ron Waguespack, founding member of Motorcycle Awareness Campaign -   I recently received this reminder from member, Jack Klorik, and would like to not only re-print the message, but encourage motorists to stay aware of the motorcyclists on the roads.  To join the MAC campaign, click here.

"On December 11, 2004 the Motorcycle Awareness Campaign (MAC) lost a founding member. On that Saturday morning Ron Waguespack attended the Baton Rouge HOG meeting, after visiting with friends, he geared up and began the ride home. Just a mile or so from his home a motorist violated his right of way and on that day the life of our friend was ended. A year before his fatal crash, Ron was injured in another crash that resulted in the deaths of his riding companions Jim and Nancy Alton

Before that fatal crash Ron was one of three men who met with a vision to reduce the needless death of motorcyclists. It became their mission to start a program to accomplish that goal. Ron, Terry Smith and Warren Broussard began to meet and eventually formed what we know today as the Motorcycle Awareness Campaign. 

So today We remember Ron Waguespack and the family that lost a husband and father."
