Richard Duerr, 64, of Langdon, ND passed away Dec. 4, 2007 at Langdon, ND.
Richard Donald Duerr was born on May 7, 1943 at a farm near Munich to Alfred and
Dorothy (Buntjer) Duerr.  He attended school at Nekoma and graduated in May of
1962.  He joined the Navy and was honorably discharged in 1965 and was later a
member of the American Legion Post #98. On September 18, 1970 Richard married
Veronica Bina and they became the parents of two sons, Tom and Rick.
Throughout Richard’s life he loved sports, horseshoes and was loyal to the Atlanta
Braves.  In the 1960’s and 1970’s he played softball and baseball for Nekoma nd
Lawton.  Richard coached peewee baseball for many years.  With pride and love for
each player, he taught them the skills of baseball as well as good sportsmanship
and how to accept wins and losses.  Richard was a member and past elder of the
Langdon Presbyterian Church.  He was employed by the City of Langdon from 1970
to 2005.  For many years he was the superintendent for the Langdon Street
Department.  He felt most comfortable driving down the streets of Langdon pushing
snow off the streets in ‘his’ 644 John Deer Payloader.  To him the 644 was his
friend.  He also owned Duerr’s Sharpening Shop, sharpening scissors, knives, etc.
Richard is survived by his sons, Tom of Houston, TX and Rick (Shannon) of
Langdon, brothers Alfred, Lloyd, Ray, Glen, Robert (Joyce) and James.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
SERVICES will be held Sunday December 9, 2007 at 2:00 O ‘Clock at the
Presbyterian Church of Langdon, ND.
INTERMENT  Nekoma Lutheran Cemetery, Nekoma, ND.
