Mr. Walter C. "Chuck" Dever May 10, 1936 - January 28, 2013 Online Obituaries Walter C. “Chuck” Dever, 76, a resident of Big Bass Lake Clifton Twp., died Monday afternoon in Regional Hospital of Scranton. He and his wife, Lillian B. Wagner Dever had celebrated their 50h wedding anniversary this past May. Born in Staten Island the son of the late Charles and Ann Cassidy Dever he was a graduate of St. Peter’s High School. After School he joined the United States Navy. Later he worked as a Stock Broker on the American Stock exchange for over 40 years. He was a member of Post 274 American Legion, Gouldsboro, the Duffer Golf Club in Big Bass Lake and St. Rita’s Church, Gouldsboro. He and his wife would also volunteer at St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen. Surviving in addition to his wife are three daughters Dawn Appel and husband Dave, Gilbert, AZ, Denise Stevens, Staten Is., Diane Pollock and husband Eddie, Staten Is.; two sisters Norma McNamara, Bethlehem, Pa, Meta Hendessi, Conn.; six grandchildren Ryan Sean and Becky Appel, Caeli Stevens, Eddie III and Cassidy Pollock, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant son Walter C. Dever Jr., a sister Carolyn Manning and a brother John Hefferan. Funeral Information The mass of Christian burial will be Saturday at 10:00am in St. Rita’s Catholic Church, 512 Main Street Gouldsboro, Pa 18424, friends and family are asked to go directly to the church for services.
