Cumberland Times-News | Posted Apr 1, 2013 GRANTSVILLE — John Paul McIntyre, 66, of Grantsville, formerly of Arnold, died Wednesday, March 27, 2013 at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center, Cumberland. Born Nov. 30, 1946, at Walter Reed Military Hospital, Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late Paul L. and Cecilia (Broda) McIntyre. He was also preceded in death by a brother, William Niemyer. He was the beloved husband of Patricia A. (Schreiber) McIntyre; devoted father of John L. McIntyre and wife, Anne, Millersville, and Kurt D. McIntyre, Annapolis; grandfather of Josie and Benjamin and brother of Paula Rhen, Reading, Pa. John was a loving father and husband. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, American Legion Post 214, V.F.W. Post 8826, Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge 348 and the International Association of Fire Fighters. John was a Baltimore City firefighter for 29 years and a corrections officer for Anne Arundel County for five years before retiring and moving to Garrett County. A memorial service will be conducted in the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, on Saturday, April 6, 2013 at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Stephen Yelovich officiating.
