Magee 50th Reunion Class of '65

What's New
Hoping all your family can cherish all those fond memories. Elbows up.

I cherish the memories of Bob while we were at Magee. My deepest condolences to his friends and family.
Have a shoy of Vitamin N - Nostalgia It's been a LONG time
Ross: Ken has had another stroke, and it's not good news. He has little mobility and can't talk. He's in hospital waiting for an assisted living place. Things here are business as usual, with daily phone calls to Erin, our daughter in Hamilton. Hope you're having good golf, good weather and good health in sunny California.
Thanks, Bill, for passing on the news. While Jim and I were not close friends, our paths crossed in many ways and in many places: Kerrisdale Elementary, Point Grey, Magee, and UBC. We were opponent pitchers in the Kerrisdale Little League at Elm Park. I played soccer at Kerrisdale with Many Vaartnou and Greg Soohen (partner on defence). Later on, I was going to try out for the Knox United team, but my mother got wind of it, and enrolled me in Weekend Catholic religion classes. Jim was a true gentleman, and I hope his family can have fond memories for years to come.
The brightest lights cause the most anguish when extinguished.
He will not be forgotten in MANY communities.
Farewell and Godspeed, Eric.
I'm very sorry to hear of Joe's passing.
A true gentleman --- He will be missed.
Deeply sorry to learn that Many has passed. Such sad news, he will be remembered and missed by so many. RIP Many.
This is news I NEVER wanted to hear. Many & I were great friends at Kerrisdale Elementary & Point Grey Jr. High. He got me interested in playing soccer, baseball and basketball. He was always the smartest, and probably the nicest kid in class. When my mum found out I wanted to join Many and try out for the Knox United soccer team, I was somehow enrolled at Vancouver College, a Catholic school, for grades 8, 9, and 10. Many and I remained friends at Magee, but not close ones. He was way brighter than I and was on the accelerated grade 13 program. A bright light has gone out, and he will be missed.
I enjoyed shooting hoops with Marty, and he was a welcome addition to the Friday Night Poker Games at our house on Wiltshire Street. Godspeed, Martin.

Hello from Alberta - home of Smallville and Metropolis.
I'm here with my friend, Stephen... a mild-mannered reporter who used to work for a great metropolitan newspaper: The Taipei Times in Taiwan.
He tells me he saw Superman II three times in three days and that Lois Lane / Margot Kidder is the big reason why he became a reporter.
And that you were the best part of Superman IV.
These days, he is a freelance journalist... still fighting for truth and justice. But he never did learn how to fly.
I know you must get a million requests, but Stephen is one in a million.
He doesn't go to fan conventions, but he does work for a Just Society and hopes that Canada will really be a participatory democracy.
So please, could you send an autographed photo of Margot Kidder (with love from Lois Lane) to my dearest friend, Stephen? (Full name Stephen A. Nelson).
I know he would greatly appreciate it and value it.

Hello everyone! Wishing you all a fabulous time at at the Reunion on May 5th. It's been such a pleasure reading everyone's updates throughout the year. Last time I couldn't go because I was in Africa and this time it's on my birthday and apparently reaching 70 is a big deal. I like Helen Mirren's quote about aging: Your 40s are good. Your 50s are great. Your 60s are fab. And 70 & 80's are fucking awesome.
Our Africa doc recently premiered at several festivals and here's the team winning an award for it.
Best to all! Wish I could be there.
