Mike E. Shimshea, 60, of Venice, FL, died on Feb. 1, 2013. Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sat., Feb. 16, 2013 at Bay Village of Sarasota, 8400 Vamo Road in Sarasota, FL. Funeral arrangements by: Ewing Funeral Home.
Mike was a member of the American Legion Post #159. He is survived by his son Michael (Brenda) Shimshea and granddaughter Sierra of Osprey, FL., his loving companion for over 20 years, Connie Frost of Venice, his sister Mary Hale and her husband Art Seifried and nephew Robert Hale all of Florida.

Mike was a great guy along with being a good friend, we went along way back from him living down the road from me in south Venice,to working at Publix in DCT class.Igor is what Guy Struble called him.We also had those two Dodge Demons his blue and mine orange tearing up Venice ave. wow how time flies but the memories are great!
