ANNOUNCEMENTS

Hello VHS Class of 70! This is an update on the upcoming VHS All Class Reunion taking place Friday, Oct. 17th, 2025 & our class  reunion on Saturday, Oct. 18th, 2025. This weekend is when Venice celebrates the Sun Fiesta so there is a lot going on in little V town.

The plan at this time is for the class years to divided into two groups, with the classes 1971 and up, to be at Waterford Country Club and classes from caveman days to 1970 ( that’s us!) to be held at the Venezia Hotel, formerly Ramada Inn on 41 By Pass.  Food and drinks will be available at both venues, with menus and prices to be determined when we have a head count to give them.

Venezia is our location so if you’d like, we can contact them to get a good rate. Pls advise if this is something that will work for you. (I have heard from a few that they don’t need lodging.)

Thanks to the kindness and generosity of Sue Reiter Horton, the event booking fee for Maxine Barrett Park is covered and we are extending this wonderful gift to the classes of 1968 & 1969! Maxine Barrett Park is a large covered pavilion that offers restrooms, grilles, tables and seating & the BEACH. So bring your kids, grandkids & hugs for a very casual late afternoon. BYOB and food as I’m not cooking for y’all 😂.

If you haven’t RSVPd yet, pls do so soon. We do need head counts for the Friday nite event and if you have any questions, my cell and email address is at the bottom of the note.

That’s it for this update and I sure hope to hear from you and looking forward to seeing you again.  It’s been way too long.

Sincerely,  Andie Brubach Wolfer

Max Shattuck Obituary

Sept 5, 1952 - April 11, 2025

We bid farewell to Max Shattuck (Venice, Florida), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 11, 2025 at the age of 72. Max touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

Though Max may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Max touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
