Dawn Ables Almond

Wow, has it already been 20 years?!? Time sure does fly. Well, I have kept busy getting married, finishing school, working, having children, etc, etc. I married my wonderful husband, Russ, in 1992 after 3 years of dating. Finished nursing school at UMC 1 year later. Worked at UMC in the critical care areas for 11 years; had enough of that, so I've been at St Dominic since then and I love it. During all of this I had my children, Drew and Ashley, who occupy most of my time. They are wonderful and so full of life. Drew is Mr. Outgoing; don't know where he gets that from, since I was always so shy....Ashley is a bit more reserved but very headstrong, but otherwise a delight. My husband works hard doing custom granite and tile work in the Metro area as well as the Vicksburg area. He's my best friend and the smartest person I've ever known. I'm lucky to have him.

I don't really remember a lot. Like I said, I was always so shy and kept my head in a book most of the time. I remember going to football games with band and hanging out with my friends. I remember some of my classes. I remember the pep rallys, Peter Heltzel singing Just a Swinging (was that the name of it?) and Eric Ross wearing that mini skirt to school! LOL. Guess it has been a long time!
