After graduation, I drove west to The University of Texas.
In Austin, I had the time of my life, earned my degree in journalism and public relations... and met a long, tall Texan named Trey.
We got married in Houston in 1994. I produced shareholder communications for a mutual fund company there for a few years, then jumped to another family of funds when we moved to Chicago.
We loved Chicago, but came happily back to Texas in 2001. We settled in Dallas, where I took a public relations job with a children's hospital.
That was great, but when our firstborn, Carter, arrived, I made the decision to stay home. It's been five years and I've loved every minute of it. (Okay: maybe not EVERY minute. But most of it.)
Not long before Carter's second birthday, I got the shock of my life when I learned I was pregnant with twins. Now it's Spencer and Katie's full-time job to ensure that things never get dull around here.
I don't get back to Mississippi much anymore, but I'll actually be in town around the reunion for my sister's wedding. It'd be great to see some old (let me rephrase that: familiar) faces!
