I've been at Waterways (now Environmental Research & Development Center) in the environmental lab since 1990. I started as a contract student while attending Hinds/Commercial Art Technology. Upon finishing at Hinds I accepted a contractor position. A couple years later I continued at MSU/Business and Communication. I obviously still like what I do since I've been there 18 years this April. My Lord, it HAS been a long time.
I design interfaces for computer-based information systems and web sites on numerous noxious plants and associated management strategies. Basically I sit at a computer 80% of the time, the rest of the time I get to drive an airboat around collecting GPS data and plant/insect samples. I have been able to travel a good bit over the past 18 years with work, watching the sun set on the West coast and then seeing the sun rise on the East coast two weeks later...and A LOT of points in between.
I literally found the woman of my dreams, or rather she found me, and became a Dad! She is wonderful and my kids are amazing. There's never a dull moment! When we're not at basketball, soccer or GymSouth, we're usually playing at the house on the go-kart, 4-wheeler and dirt bikes. It's a family affair...When the work is all done, we love to play, eat out and watch scary movies.
