Melissa and I wanted to let everyone know that mom passed away early this morning. As many of you know she has had a very tough road since she fell 2 years ago and broke her neck and compressed her spinal cord. Lately, she had really been struggling. She had emergency surgery on Easter for a bowel obstruction. She made it through the surgery well, but really went down hill afterwards. On the Saturday following her surgery she asked me to have her discharged form the hospital as she wanted to go home to be with Richard and be made comfortable so she could pass. She was tired of being in pain all the time and struggling. We got her transported home that day and hospice took over her care. Mom had explicit instructions that she wanted to be cremated, did not want a service or a memorial. Melissa and I are struggling with this and trying to decide what we will do about having a memorial. We will post when that decision is made. Please pray for Richard as he will be struggling in the coming days, he has been by her side and taking care of her since her fall. We are very worried he will feel lost for a while. Melissa and I will continue to look out for him and help him in anyway. Daddy’s doing ok with it, he knew how bad a shape she was in and wanted what is best for her. We are all happy that she is with Mamaw, Booda and Stacy now and no longer in pain.
