Grace (Zorn) Krienke Obituary

Grace Theolyn Krienke 81, of Round Rock, Texas passed away on October 5, 2023. Grace was born on October 1, 1942 in Victoria, Texas to William Frederick Zorn and Ottilie Emelie Hartman. She graduated from Victoria High School and later attended Durham College in Victoria where she received a certificate in Business Administration. Her work experience included 13 years at Custom Benefit Services in Austin where she was the head of computer operations, 4 years at Round Rock Machine as part-time administrative assistant and 13 years at Fine Lumber & Plywood in Austin as secretary and bookkeeper.

On April 13, 1985, Grace married Roy Krienke at Palm Valley Lutheran Church in Round Rock, Texas. They blended two families into one and made a new life together. Her interests included gardening, cooking and spending time with family and friends. She loved her family so very much and was blessed to have 10 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. Grace was a very special lady that many friends and family have described as loyal, supportive, thoughtful, giving, intelligent, joyful, generous, caring, dependable, fun to be with, a little firecracker and life of the party, and one who never met a stranger and lit up any room she entered.

She will be missed beyond words, but we are thankful that her eternity is sealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

She is preceded in death by her parents, William and Ottilie Zorn; first husband, David Layton; and son, Todd Layton.

Grace is survived by Roy Krienke, her loving husband of 38 years; her sisters, Christelle Troell and husband Richard, Frances Turk and husband Robert; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her daughter, Terri Dumas and husband Dan; son, John Layton and wife Paige; daughter, Kimberly Blakely and husband Jim; her grandchildren, Tabetha Layton, Tara Raney and Scott, Seth Dumas, Morgan Yount and Austin, Cody Dumas and Kaeleigh, Abby Dumas, Sara and Ava Layton, Justin and Ryan Blakely and her great-grandchildren Charlie and William Yount, Harper Raney and Newt Dumas.
