Bev was such a wonderful person and have many good memories of time spent together in school and in Houston when we were older as well.  She and Marti Boyd were "attached at the hip" and I know she misses her more than anyone.   Sleep in Peace

Beverly Brown Obituary

BEVERLY BROWN, born September 20, 1943, in Portsmouth, Virginia, died in Houston, Texas on November 18, 2002. Ms. Brown is preceded in death by both sets of grandparents and by her father, Harrison Keith Brown, all of Centerville, Texas. She is survived by her mother, Margaret C. Brown of Centerville, Texas; her sister, Marsha Brown Taylor and her husband, Thomas B. Taylor; her nephew, Thomas Christopher Taylor, of Houston, Texas; her aunt, Mattie Jo Neyland and husband, Roger Neyland, of Centerville, Texas; numerous cousins, a host of friends, and her beloved dog, "Sugar." Beverly attended three years of high school in Victoria, Texas before graduating from Centerville High School in 1961. Beverly received her B.A. degree from Sam Houston State Teachers' College in 1965. Beverly was employed by Mobil Oil Company in Dallas for four years, then moved to Houston where she was employed in the newly relocated corporate headquarters of Cooper Industries, Inc. She was Director of Personnel Services at the time of her retirement from Cooper in 1997. The prayers, cards, visits, flowers and kindnesses she received during her battle with breast cancer are deeply appreciated. The family is grateful to the staff of M. D. Anderson for the incredibly compassionate care and treatment of Beverly. The family also appreciates the help and support of the Houston Hospice. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 20th at Green-Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, November 21st, 2002 at Green-Walters Funeral Home in Centerville, Texas with interment at Centerville Cemetery. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be given to M. D. Anderson Cancer Center, 1515 Holcombe Boulevard, Houston, Texas or the Houston Hospice 8811 Gaylord, Suite 100, Houston, Texas 77024, or to a charity of choice.
