I married Jimmy and we had a daughter, Kimberly Phelane Knight.  Jimmy was employed at Safety Steel in the business office and enrolled in night classes at the college.  Tragically on December 6, 1962, Jimmy died in an automobile accident.  Twenty-four years later, Kimberly died in an automobile accident.  Jimmy was extremely handsome, energetic and enthusiastic about life!  Our daughter was his image and beautiful.  Even though the years have come and gone, I often think of Jimmy and his sweet spirit and cherish the memory of his endearing love.  I know Jimmy was standing at the gate in heaven when his daughter arrived...

Jimmy and I lived on the same street for a number of years and as we went through our tender years he always put the rest of us that saw each other coming and going in mind of another time , he was a poetic figure , with his 'Knight' name we were always waiting for him to appear on a steed any minute. He had a beautiful secret smile, that could transport ,taking your breath away.

I always had a challenge when I raced Jimmy, didn't seem to matter 50 yard dash, 100 yards we always ran a dead heat some times edging the other out by 1/2 step or so. We didn't run track so we had our contest on "play Days" and sometimes we would go out to the track during practice sessions with the track team. He was quite a guy, loved and admired by most everyone.
