Steve - I was just looking at profiles for the first time and saw your grandaughter on there. She is beautiful!

Had a message from Chuck Donaldson. He is going to be in New Zealand and Australia with his daughter during the reunion. He said to say hi to everyone. I am trying to coax him into joining the site.

Speaking of Chuck, when we were sophomores, Chuck came by my locker and ask what we did in typing that day, and I said, Oh, you know, the same ole drill, we typed
A S S. As soon as I said it, I was so embarrassed I think I tried to crawl into my locker. I was so distressed, I don't even know if Chuck even noticed what word I had spelt. But I did! That moment will forever be burned into my brain.

DOES ANYONE REMEMBER IN HIGH SCHOOL TYPING CLASS WHEN TWO BIG KIDS WERE GIVING THE TEACHER A HARD TIME, AND HE CALLED THEM UP FRONT TO HIT THEM WITH A RULER? AND ONE BIG KID TOOK THE RULER AND BROKE IT IN HALF. HE MADE THE WHOLE CLASS STAY AFTER SCHOOL, AND SOME OF THE KIDS MISSED THEIR BUS. I CAN'T REMEMBER ANY NAMES, BUT THE TEACHER WAS A CHICKEN AND SCARED OF HIS OWN SHADOW. CAN ANYONE HELP ME OUT WITH NAMES, MY MEMORY IS FOGGY?

JOHNNY,-STEVE AND I ARE SEARCHING FOR YOU. DID YOU GET LOST GOING TO THE BEAUTY SALON, OR BARBER SHOP IF YOU WANT TO BE MANLY ABOUT IT? REMEMBER IT'S THE ONE WITH THE STRIPED POLE IN FRONT. TEE HEE
STEVE- I GOT MY SENSE OF HUMOR BACK...... HAVE A GREAT DAY.

The typing teacher was Mr. Gaddis and he was an ass. He constantly harrassed me in class. I guess I mentioned it at home and without my knowing it, my mother called Mr. Faulkner, and the harrassment suddenly stopped. Years later when reminiscing about school days with Mary Ann the subject came up, and when I mentioned his standing in front of me during class, she ask me if I didn't know he was playing pocket pool while standing there. duh! Was I green or what? I guess that is why he targeted me.

Yeah It was Gaddis. Do you remember he and Mrs. Snead dated. I bet that was exciting to watch. Yep, I bought the 53 ford four door from Gullett for 75 dollars cold hard cash. I drove that car till my Senior year in High School at Edmond. I then got a sweet little yellow 66 Mustang. Postier remember racing the 60 yard high hurdles at Okla City at the indoor College meet? I think I remember kicking butt in that race, huh?

Steven Ray (Steve) Postier

Gene- I honestly don't remember that. But I'll take your word for it. You know with us the first thing to go is your memory, then the second thing is ...uh something else. I bet you would buy that old Ford back for $75 today. Weren't you one of the religious ones that visited that old Chapel a couple of times a week?

Tooter- Can you get me hired on before you retire? I've got a lot of experience. You don't work for the little Inspection Company here in Tulsa do you? Dana Shelley is part owner.

Tooter- Do you remember when JP called us to the office in the 9th grade for throwing snowballs at noon. I had no idea I done anything wrong.

I had Study Hall (on 3rd floor) in 9th grade and Mrs. Rhodes was over the Study Hall and the library, and I was one of the librarians that hour. One day Mrs. Rhodes caught a glimpse of a man on the 3rd floor and he had a gun. She came inside the library and shut the door and told us what she had seen, and called the office. To say the least Mrs. Rhodes was very anxious, and things got pretty exciting for the next few minutes. Come to find out, it was a full-grown special ed student with a toy gun, who had left the special ed building next door and wandered up to the 3rd floor of the Jr. High.

That would have been the only reason someone would have had a gun in school in the 60's in Vinita. Every boy that drove a truck had a gun rack - with guns - in the school parking lot.

Lavanna- How was your Palm Sunday service? Ours was awesome.

Judy - I don't remember telling you that about Mr. G. - I probably forgot that - but he was different. I don't know if I've heard the term "pocket pool"-don't anyone bother to explain, please! He did send a girl from our class flowers a few years later and she was not impressed. He used to bug Rhea and me about the length of our fingernails, but I think she was the fastest typist in the class, nails and all.

Mary Ann- Hot would be the word today not 'cute'.
Judy- I think the guy that worked for Shelton's dad was named Ed.

Steve and Judy. I had a blessed service this morning for a lot of reasons. But do you know Tim Hill or Dr. Fessler (they live here, but Tim has rodeoed -is that spelled right?-a lot). Well even if you don't know them, a horse fell on Tim's 8 yr. old daughter (Dr.Fessler's grandaughter) 2 weeks ago. It is such a miracle that she even lived, she does have broken legs and a broken pelvis - and the saddle horn pierced her side. She was suppossed to be in St Francis for 3 or more weeks. She came home after one week and was at church today - on a walker, but there. To see that little girl, the way it has affected so many people and to know that this was not a "chance" happening was wonderful!

The term" hot" really bothered me when I still had some single daughters. Terms change with the times for sure. I know "groovey" was suppossed to be a "in", when we were in high school, but I didn't hear many people use it. When I went to OSU and heard people really use that, I had to stiffle a laugh. "Cool" was a term that lasted a long time and is still in my vocabulary.

Mary Ann- I really wish you would get Eddie Veith's book, Spirituality of the Cross. It is his personal road to Lutheranism. It's a great read. You don't read any Lee Child do you?

04/05/09 11:31 PM #261

Mary Ann Johnson (Null)

I haven't read any of Lee Child's books, but yes, I would like to read Eddie's book. I read a lot, but more in the summer.

If you have a really good sense of humor, you must watch "The Vicar of Dibley" on Channel 1l (PBS) at
11:30 p.m. on Sunday nights. English sense of humor
is the funniest!

Gene-All these years I thought I was your first love! I remember when you came to Hall Halsell...I never knew you were at Will Rogers first. Yes I remember Ann Lynch. She moved when we were in 8th grade to Oklahoma City. I have not seen her since. She was beautiful and had an older sister named Sue. I am glad you are enjoying the foreum! I think it is the neatest part of the site. I agree with you about Jay. He was one in a million! I feel blessed to have known him.
Judy-I e-mailed Chuck I was hoping he would get in touch you and fill out his profile.
Lavanna-I beleived you about the dead body! I was meaning the gossip about poor Bill and Chuck! Sounds like they were involved in a lot of activity!
Bruce- I did not know that Doody Balls had a brother!
Mary Ann-Yes, I was up late! I have trouble sleeping when there are hot and cold weather changes. I have Fibromyalgia...it is like and arthritis of the muscles. It really flares up in cold weather and we have been going back and forth between hot and cold. I am looking forward to summer.
Steve-Those girls can keep you up at night. Bill use to walk the floor when Nicky was out on a date!

Judy-I did not like Mr. Gaddis! He accused me of putting a picture from a Playboy magazine on his desk and then showed me the picture! I told him we did not have magazines like that at my house! I was very upset and went straight to Mr. Faulkner and asked to be moved from that class to study hall. (Vol was married to my cousin Jo Lee.) He moved me! What Mrs. Sneed are you talking about?

04/06/09 01:21 AM #265

Judith Ann Postier

I think Mrs. Snead was the 8th grade English teacher in Jr. High. When my sister was in the 8th grade, the boys were so ornery in the class, they would make Mrs. Snead run crying out of the classroom everyday. So they made a good couple.

Judith Ann Postier

Carla - I wish I had been ornery enough to think of stunts to pull like that! I wouldn't have known where to find a picture from a Playboy magazine, let alone bring it to school. You know he must have been a real pervert. Seems like we all had problems with him. I think he was gone from VHS after our senior year.

Just wanted to post up a blurb about the reason I haven't been on in a couple of days...real life is getting in the way. My wife and I are planning a birthday party for a dear friend of ours who turns 50 this month. The wife's to-do list was/is getting kinda heavy...so have been busy with that.

Lavanna... no dear you will get to see my pics soon enough. Don't want to blind you with my dazzling beauty too soon. LOL Plus Steve dragged the grandkids out...lol. Little does he know I have 13 at last count. teeeheeeee. Picture two old men showing off pics and one holds the wallet so as the other one sees the ONE pic. Then the other man unfolds his falling to the floor LOL. Just razzin you Steve.

See ya guys soon..back to the b-day detail.

John

Steve--Oh you poor poor man. Just saw the pics. You are doomed! She is a doll. My oldest granddaughter (now 21) still has grandpa right where she wants him. LOL If I lived back there I would be broke ALL the time instead of just couple of days a month..LOL
