Lavanna M. Hawkins (Morgan)

HELLO ALL, WELL I JUST GOT BACK FROM THE DRS. YES I DO HAVE CHRONIC BRONCITIS. I GOT DRUGS AND AM SURE I WILL FEEL BETTER SOON.
AS FAR AS BEING A FELON, I DIDN'T DO THE BREAKING IN THAT WAS KAREN HERMAN I THINK. SHE WAS WORKING IN THE OFFICE THAT DAY, I WAS THE ONE LOOKING THROUGH THE DIPLOMAS AND I THINK IT WAS GLYNDA POPE OR SALLY HAMILTON WHO WAS THE LOOKOUT. I WAS MORE SCARED OF BEING CAUGHT BY MRS. TYLER THAN I WAS THE PRINCIPAL BECAUSE IF YOU ALL REMEMBER THE OFFICE WAS RIGHT BY MRS. TYLER'S ROOM. EVERYTIME I WOULD FIND ONE OF OUR DIPLOMAS I WOULD CALL OUT "I FOUND IT" MEANING ONE OF OUR DIPLOMAS. I'M SURPRISED MRS. TYLER DID NOT HEAR ME. WE DIDN'T GET CAUGHT THOUGH, THAT WAS THE MOST DANGEROUS THING I EVER DID IN HIGH SCHOOL!!!! TEE HEE!

Lavanna- I will believe your story for now, but if Judy's Official CIA files tell a different story it will posted on THIS forum. Just be forewarned.

Steven Ray (Steve) Postier

Lavanna- You just don't 'get' it. Why didn't you say that you and Bill and Chuck broke in the back door at midnight dressed in dark clothes, armed with flashlights, and found out who was graduating and who wasn't? Everyone would have bought that story.

DOES EVERYONE STILL HAVE THEIR MINIATURE DIPLOMAS THAT WAS LAMINATED? I STILL HAVE MINE. IF I HAD WAITED TILL THEY WERE PASSED OUT I WOULDN'T HAVE PEAKED AT THE DIPLOMAS. I CAN'T RMEMBER DID WE GET THEM BEFORE OR AFTER THE ORIGINAL? I THOUGHT THEY WERE SO CUTE. I STILL CARRY IT IN MY WALLET WITH MY PHOTOS.
STEVE- I COULD HAVE TOLD THE STORY LIKE THELMA AND LOUISE WITHOUT THE GUNS! WOULD YOU HAVE BELIEVED THAT? ALTHOUGH I WOULDN'T BE ABLE TO FIGURE OUT WHICH ONE I WOULD BE THELMA OR LOUISE. WHO WOULD YOU SAY?

Lavanna- Thelma for sure.

Carla- I see Lawson Essex every once in awhile. He is a friend of Dean's and his brother Roy who lives near Grove. He doesn't have his silver tooth anymore! But he is still nice looking. He lives near Grove, is retired and works part time delivering those big Coach buses built in Miami, to new owners all over the USA and then flies back home.

Lavanna- Yes, I have my miniture diploma. I think we got them the night we graduated, but if I remember right, we got an empty diploma folder that night. Our actual diplomas were held as ransom to make us come back to school for the final two days, in order to receive them.

Cynthia Bird married Gary Boatright. He used to be a Pastor but he now owns the Vinita Title Company.

Carla- I think JP is very much alive. He is married to Lora Lee Parker.

Oh, by the way, for those that don't know. Teen Town is now the Senior Citizen's hangout! They have a nice program for the seniors.

JP's son John Jr. was just elected to serve on the City Council.

Lavanna-I knew there had to be a mistake! I could not imagine you doing anything bad! I also still have my minature dipolma! I bet more girls than guys have hung on to them!

Judy-I talked to Lawson's mom about a month ago. She dates Coach Maxwell who is retired from NEO. Bill keeps in touch with him as he played for him and coached with him. He recently was having surgery and Bill called him. Lawson's mom answered the phone! She told me Lawson had retired and was doing the bus thing. I loved his family...they were so nice! I can't believe your guy knows him! It is such a small world!

My new grandbaby due in August is a boy! His name will be William Brayden Fryman. They will call him Brayden. Bennett is very excited he is having a brother. Mom really wanted a girl! She is happy that the boys will grow up together!

Steve-I did not know you had a little sister either! Where did you and Bruce keep these Phantom sisters when we were in school?

I am still around but you won't believe what I have been doing. I am the interim PTA President at my 3rd graders school. Getting a new PTA Board (minus me) for next year, a major fundraiser in a couple of weeks, CAC meetings, Vertical Team meetings. And, of course... speaking of the course, I have been getting in my required dose of golf, so please no sympathy. Oh yeah, I am the president of the Athletics Booster Club at my 7th graders Middle school. And, my wife, oh sh-t, my wife, gotta go, late for lunch.

Steve has a younger brother born in 1959 and sister born in 1962. I carried Clarence John and Carol Ann around on my hip like they were my own prized possessions! Our families grew up living just across the pasture from each other, as our properties connected. Our moms and dads both worked for the phone company and we went to the same church. Most any evening one family or the other was visiting at the others home. We were and still are very close. It is an undeniable trait the whole Postier clan possesses.

Carla- Poor Carol Ann. When Mom went back to work, Russell and I would watch Carol Ann and Clarence. If she 'pooped' in her pants, we would just take her out in the back yard and hose her down. Also we had a roping arena with some roping steers out behind our house. She had a little Shetland pony and we would tie the rope to the saddle horn and when she would rope a steer, the steer would drag her and her pony all over the arena. She would also drive the pickup for me when I was hauling hay. She was 3-4 years old. I would put the truck in gear and pull the throttle out a little bit and she would stand up in the seat and drive. She thought it was great fun. Believe it or not we are very close. She doesn't hold any of that against me. Or maybe she was too young to remember.
Bruce- I had a 78 today. Put that in your pipe and smoke it!!! and from the tips of the Senior Tees.

All- I am assuming everyone has seen Susan Boyle on YouTube. If not, you need to.

Steve, 78 at the Pitch & Putt not bad for a guy with grip issues. And, you know I was out at the arena on Wed nights and I never saw any horses being dragged around by any steers. Poor Carol Ann, it's a good thing Aunt Judy lived close by, but just another day out in Ironside I suppose.

04/17/09 09:28 PM #385

Steven Ray (Steve) Postier

Bruce- It's swing issues not grip issues. I make Charles Barkley look like Ernie Els. I have to get new grips every couple of weeks. What was it like running 'Talk of the Town'. I think that is my dream job.

SO, you want the juicy stories not the grade school stuff?

04/17/09 09:49 PM #387

Steven Ray (Steve) Postier

Bruce- I'd just like to bring back the 15 cent hamburger and 10 cent fries.

04/18/09 08:36 AM #388

Bruce Evans

That's what I'm talking about Steve, "A Bruceburger of Course", the juicy stuff. Double meat, double cheese, with lettuce, tomatoes, and garnished with mayo, mustard, pickle relish, and onions 'fried in' on a big sesame seed bun. We hand build those burgers. The patties were pressed by my own hands. We sliced and diced it all for 75 cents. Just a plain burger with pickles, onions and ketchup, mustard or mayo was 45 cents; add cheese for a nickel. Coffee was 10 cents, add a slice of homemade pie for another 25 cents. Did you ever eat at at my cafe? I had that place for just 2 & 1/2 years but it seemed much longer.

04/18/09 09:44 AM #389

Steven Ray (Steve) Postier

Bruce- I did not. But I would love to have a place like that. And hire Flo to be the waitress.

Janis Ann (Jan) Dirickson (Marshall)

Bruce what exactly are you talking about owning a cafe/burger joint. I must have missed something in the past narratives. If you had a place that served what you were describing why did you go out of business? Ya damn sure made me hungry for a burger and it's only 7:21 am. That burger reminded me of Ammermen's (not sure how to spell their name, Coach Combs was married to Suzanne A, the place was on main and the street Mary Ann lived on.) It was turned into a liquor store, now what it is I haven't a clue. But the best 25 cent burgers for sure. You are so busy being the involved dad. Enjoy it while you can, that time of your life is over in a flash. We went to absolutely everything the boys did, ball, rodeo, scholatic whatevers. And then POOF their gone. I told Dick I sure hope we liked each other when the last one left, cause we hadn't been been one of one for 21 yrs. Thankfully I guess we did. This June will be 36yrs. We are going tomorrow to some old friends for branding. Everyone here still ropes and drags the calves to the fire. We'll do about 400 head tomorrow. Unlike you Steve, I miss the ranch life and all it has to offer. I would rather ride than do most anything. Dick managed a ranch for a large corp. for 26 yrs, we raised our kids on 180,000 acres. It was the best. I sure do miss it. How is everyone spending their wkend? Bruce and Steve will be golfing, Judy will be cleaning a fence row or yard (damn she picks up a lot) Lavanna will be resting and reading juicy novels. Carla what do you have planned? Mary Ann wish I lived close enough to help you pack or clean and sort, Rhea also wish I was close enough just cause we could do something we probably shouldn't. Hope everybody has a great Sat. Steve, Susan Boyle made me cry and shiver, what a amazing story she had. Later.

Jan- Everyone that thinks riding horseback around 180,000 acres of land, fixing fence in the winter time, in Montana, would be 'fun', raise your hand. I don't see any hands!!!
I will be cleaning house this weekend. Susan is visiting friends in Memphis. Wait, I think I would rather help you brand than clean house, but I was a header not a healer. I could keep the fire hot.

Janis Ann (Jan) Dirickson (Marshall)

Steve, come on up. I have to point out, that given my druthers, riding, fencing, and branding in Mt beats the hell out of cleaning house. Also a little beer dinking will be on the agenda. I'll bet with a little practice you would come up with 2 feet everytime. It was a wonderful life and a great way to raise kids. If your in to western art, there is an artist named Chris Owen, anyway he has painted a couple pictures of our oldest, Brett. They are entitled Ranch Roping and Tough Enough. Gotta go, again, lots to do. Do you use Pledge or Endust? I know the swiffer..ME too.

Steven Ray (Steve) Postier

Jan- I have to admit that I had some really great times on the farm. I especially remember the winters. Getting up at 5:00 am to go help an elderly neighbor feed all of his livestock, then back to our house to wade in cow shit up to my knees and milk 2 cows that wouldn't take a crap for 12 hours until their full body was inside the barn. I would then feed a bunch of Holstein calves with milk and try to shove 'scour' pills down their throats. Oh, and then carrying water from the house to the barn. The water would spill out on my jeans and instantly freeze to the point I could hardly walk. Yeah, those were the good ole days.
Judy- Remember your dad buying 40 little angus heifers? They were all bred to either a Herford or Brangus bull. I think out of 40 only 2 gave birth without help. That was also 'fun', sticking your arm 2 feet up a cow's ass to try to get hold of that little slimy bundle of joy.
Jan- When I dust I don't use Pledge or Endust, I use a snow shovel.
