Judy- I need you to check your 'Mary Ann Johnson Null' files for a couple of 'so called facts'. First, who was 'Fairest of the Fair'? Mary Ann or Carla? and is there anything that indicates that Mary Ann beat Chuck Donaldson, one on one, in a Math contest, in the 4th grade? Please report your findings on this forum.
Mary Ann- Your 'fraud' may soon be known to all. Or maybe not.

Steve, I was merely referring to the fact that my husband is a pretty big guy. And I am lucky because of that fact that he is a very nice guy. What were you thinking? For heaven's sake. I do declare. Now to Harvey. He was my neighbor on Brewer. We would ride our bikes occasionally around the neighborhood. He was one of the funniest, quick witted people I've ever known, but his intelligence, and dry sense of humor could cut ya down in the blink of an eye. And usually his victims didn't know what had happened. He was way over most everyone's head. Mine included. But he had a sweet side and a sweet smile and I liked Harvey probably like most everyone. I do remember dancing with him a couple of times and it was fun. When he would challenge Mrs. Tyler on personal interpretation of the stories we read in Lit. I thought he was the bravest of the brave. I'm sure she enjoyed it though because she realized how brillant he was. As for Mary Ann, I remember her bringing it up to Chuck that she had beaten him then she would chuckle. I'll explain later why I ran from the law and wound up in MT.

Jan- Sounds like a 'Western Romance Novel'. Leave the title up to me.

Steve I'm not sure Dick will be with me at the reunion, he hates OK in the summer, so do our kids. In fact we were home in July yrs ago and one of the kids said, "mom you can't tell me you ever got into trouble when you were a kid, cause it's too hot to go outside and do anything" (I'm so thankful we never ran into any of you so you could prove him wrong) my northerners hate the humidity. Anyway you would like Dick (everyone likes Dick)he's the exact opposite of me, must be why it's worked. Can't wait for the title. I think lots of people up here have already thought of a couple like: Poor Dick, She Broke Old Dick. Run Dick Run. Hope you can do better. Have a glorious Sunday everyone.

Steve-Bill thinks it would be better for your new chapter to be "Playing off the ladies "Tits" instead of "tips"! He is certain that was a typo on your part. He would love to help you do research on the chapter!!
Your wife Susan and I hit it off at the 10 year reunion. She sounds like my kind of girlfriend...roughing it is an RV! All the conforts at home but all the beauty of the outdoors! I am sure that RV's were invented and designed by a woman. I am looking forward to talking to another golf "widow". Does she go for "retail therapy"? I make myself feel good when Bill is playing golf by going shopping! It makes for a happy marriage! It must work!

Jan-I like the title "BIG DICK, Big Bad Dick!". I have read my share of western and civil war romance novels! I sort of picture myself as a reincarnated Scarlet O'Hara!

All-I loved Harvy Gatlin!!! He was a great guy. When we did the "Red Badge of Courage" (I think that was our Junior year) he helped me by typing my paper. When he gave it back to me I told him it was the wrong paper. It sounded nothing like the one I had written. He looked at me and said I know...I had to fix it a little. I could not type it the way it was written! I asked him if he was making fun of me and he said, "I would never do that, you have great ideas they just don't make a lot of sense. I only tweaked it so the common reader could enjoy it."
He said all of that with a serious face. Being wiser and more educated...I am sure he was making fun but I still loved him.

Francis-Glad to have you to liven up our conversations. I can't believe you had twins! I admire those who can do that and live to tell the story! Do you remember going to Sunday School together at Calvary? I have some pictures of Bible School that my Uncle Sam gave me! I will try to bring them to the reunion.

Steve-I have the trophy and the newspaper clippings! But I would love to transfer my "title" to Mary Ann! I would not want her to miss the birth of her grandtwins to do time! The trophy is somewhere in a box I will bring it to her in July...If I can find the box!

Rhea-I hope Roger is doing better! IV's are so hard! Does he have a port? That sure makes it easier. It is so easy to get infections when you are disabled. Does your daughter live close?

Bill and I had a husband and wife that we were our best friends. The wife found out she had cancer and a month later her husband died of a heart attack due to the stress. She had to have friends and family (she only had a stepdaughter) help her through the cancer after he died. We had to take training to do her medications and nutrition through her IV port. It was scary...making sure to clean the port and doing everything right. She passed away three months later. It has been four years and we still can't get use to them being gone!

Steven Ray (Steve) Postier

Jan- I was thinking something like 'How I Found My Big Dick in Big Sky Country'. What do you think? The title alone would sell millions.
Rhea- Hope you have had a good week. Please don't forget to take of yourself.
Carla- Did I say 'tips'? I think that on the 'Hooters Tour' they play from the 'tits'. Have Bill verify that for me please.

Mary Ann Johnson (Null)

Rhea and Betty - you have my prayers and hopes for grace, strength and comfort - nobody knows how difficult the 24/7 nursing is, until you experience it. My most difficult situation was different than yours, but I know it was the grace of God that got me through.

Carla - about that trophy, could I meet you shortly before the reunion? Just to catch up on things.
I was fascintaed with Calvery Baptist Church building (the rounded roof) when I was young and went to a few things there. Are you related to the family that lived across the street (from where we went to high school), in the ranch style house? Tillberry (was that their name)?

Harvey story - He drove the church bus to pick up Vacation Bible School kids when my daughters were young and visiting my mother. Apparently they weren't listed on his route. They were heartbroken, having anticipated getting to ride on a bus (they hadn't had the luxury).
Rather than drive her crying grandaughters 2 blocks to VBS - mom called the church. Harvey was out in just a few min to give my 2 daughters a personal bus ride to VBS and they were in awe.

I went to a dance with him once, in 7th grade and thought it was so cool that his older brother took us, rather than having someone's parent drive. I also remember dancing with him at a party on Joni's patio. We were probably in the 7th grade and Becky Cogle told me I was to suggestive. I was shocked and didn't know what I had done, or how to respond. I think it must have been one of those dances that Rhea taught me. I didn't dance the rest of the night and I hope Becky was appeased.

Steven Ray (Steve) Postier

Mary Ann- Harvey's older brother was Andy. He and Larry Lipple were very good basketball players at Vinita. I think that he went to Canada to escape the Vietnam war draft. I have not heard what happened to him. Does anyone know? Judy? Speaking of suggestive, remember Shirley Myers dancing at Teen Town.

04/26/09 11:17 PM #453

Rhea Joyce Freeman (Weaver)

All - Thanks for the thoughts and the prayers. It is difficult and some days are better than others. The weather has been beautiful this weekend and that always helps.

re: Harvey - I agree that he was brilliant. So much so we sometimes thought he was a bit strange but nice. I am sorry that he has passed, but don't know when.

Mary Ann - You know my favorite movie of all time is still "Dirty Dancing". Boy, we sure had some good times. But, what I still can't believe is that I never got to go dance at Nowata!

Jan - you lucky dawg! Sorry we won't get to meet "Big Dick".

Steve - Can't believe I mentioned golf and you didn't send me your book.

Carla - I think you and Mary Ann BOTH should wear crowns at the reunion. I wonder what happened to my crown from 9th grade Football Queen...I bet Steve took it!

04/27/09 01:34 AM #454

Judith Ann Postier

Rhea- I went to the Nowata dance one time in '67 or '68, and that was probably one too many. I went with some older girls from Big Cabin. It was the hot place to be. I remember walking in passed Johnny Landreth and a bunch of way older guys and Johnny speaking to me, I couldn't get out of the way fast enough! Seems like the Nowata dance just kinda of faded away soon after.

Steve- Mary Ann's file is stamped top secret, highly confidential!

Janis Ann- Are you sure that explanation is correct?

04/27/09 09:22 AM #455

Steven Ray (Steve) Postier

Judy- I got to see the 'Five Americans' at Nowata one time. I think I went with David. Remember 'Western Union'? They were from Hugo. I remember how loud they were. My whole body was vibrating. Maybe that's why I can't hear today. Did anyone ever go to the 'Starlite Club' in Langley. I remember watching James Galvin drinking a beer in like 2 seconds. Pretty impressive!!! Do I need to get Barry Denney to get the files on Mary Ann? I'm sure he would issue an order of some kind if needed.
Jan- Maybe Barry could order a 'Full Disclosure' on you. That might be some interesting reading.
Rhea- I don't think that I even got to escort you. Didn't Chuck? You will have to ask Bill or Chuck about your tiara.

04/27/09 10:41 AM #456

Rhea Joyce Freeman (Weaver)

Steve - No, you were my escort. I have a picture to prove it...someplace. I remember I had "big hair" and you had a problem with my "crown".

04/27/09 11:32 AM #457

Carla Ray Williams (Yocum)

Mary Ann-I got you covered girlfriend! I even know how to edit photos! I have soft ware on my computer. You just need to send me a photo and I can doctor it. Can you do time for that?

04/27/09 11:38 AM #458

Carla Ray Williams (Yocum)

All-I am so jealous of the kids who got to go to Nowata! I was forbidden to go! My daddy thought it was "sin City" and right up there with the "passion pit" aka Larriat Drive In. He once found out I was there and came driving around to find me. He found me and scared the kids I was with to death! I will protect the innocent...you know who you are! He made me go home with him! I only went a couple of more times when he was out of town!

04/27/09 08:48 PM #459

Carla Ray Williams (Yocum)

All-I guess I am going to have to drive to MCKinney and check on Gene. It is about 28 miles from me. I need someone else to check on Johnnie. Maybe he got swine flu. They have closed a school in Richardson for the flu.

Francis-Where is your sister Lavonna?

Bruce-Did someone forget to tell you that as you get older you slow down? Your schedule sounds way to busy!

Jan-I thought I came up with the best book title, but I must admit that Steve's is way better. He must be a closet romance reader! Do you remember when we were "roomies" at NEO?

04/27/09 08:52 PM #460

Carla Ray Williams (Yocum)

Steve-By any chance does Susan like to antique shop? It is one of my passions. I am looking for a "buddy" to shop with me.

04/27/09 09:45 PM #461

Mary Ann Johnson (Null)

Carla - Now about that picture enhancement - how many years can it take off? I might need to talk to you about that. And I do like to antique shop, but don't do it very often.
Judy - Your check is in the mail.....
All - I never went to Nowata either - it always sounded like the place to be. I never bothered to ask mama about that one.

04/27/09 09:52 PM #462

Steven Ray (Steve) Postier

Carla -
Like you, I have found that the best solution to 'golf widow-dom' is retail therapy. I have done the math (which is NOT my long suit) and greens fees plus a new glove plus several new golf balls almost always equals a new pair of shoes!!! I love antiques, or anything shiny or sparkly, or just being out with girlfriends...and if there is a glass of champagne or wine to celebrate the good luck finds of the day ~ all the better !!! If the guys are planning a golf outing on Saturday, I say we plan on SHOPPING!!! Judy - can you help me and Carla find some outlets for our retail therapy needs??????????
Looking forward to seeing you again in July ~ SusanP

04/27/09 09:53 PM #463

Mary Ann Johnson (Null)

Steve - I don't know why you bother to ask the general population anything about local history, when you must have your cousin's number! So run this by Judy, but I think Andy stayed gone for a lot of years, but I heard that he finally came back to the states.
Also, Steve, I never noticed Shirley dancing suggestively, but then I wasn't looking at the girls anyway.
Carla - Are you related to Melvin Tillberry? I had a crush on his son, who I think was a few years older than I.

04/27/09 10:08 PM #464

Mary Ann Johnson (Null)

Steve - Don't threaten me with contacting Barry Denny - why I could end his career with just this one incident. He came over to my house to play one afternoon and we walked to Safeway, so that I could buy a Mother's Day gift for my mom (with money I had asked her for). I bought mom a bottle of Dial Shampoo (which I'm sure she needed, as she had a shop full of professional supplies). But I paid for my purchase, which is more than I can say for Barry. It's not the dollar amount but the principle here. With my own I eyes, I saw Barry take a peanut and put it in his pocket. When we left the store, he popped it in his mouth and I was terrified that I would be arrested as an accomplice. I watched over my shoulder, all the way home. I just knew the police would be after us. Barry was not in the least phased and I can only hope that he has repented. Of course, my lips are sealed.

Carla Ray Williams (Yocum)

Mary Ann-I don't think I am kin to the Tillberies, but our families were good friends. You are right their son was way cute!!
About those pictures...I am just getting started so I am not very good yet. My son-in-law says it does wonders for red eyes! I am experimenting with it. I am hoping that it can shave off at least 20 years. I am trying to learn to take someone's head and put it on a great body!! I just haven't decided whose great body I want yet! Any suggestions? I figure it could suppliment my retirement when I retire!

04/27/09 11:16 PM #466

Carla Ray Williams (Yocum)

Susan-I just had a feeling we were of like minds! You so need to make Steve bring you down here! I know the outlet malls backwards and forward!!! They are all around me. I get a great "high" when I find those bargins. Where I shop you could come home with two pairs of designer shoes for the price of a green fee alone! We have a place called Canton, Texas that has a great sale on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday before the First Monday of each month!
Carla

Steven Ray (Steve) Postier

Carla, OMGoodness...I have always wanted to go to Canton! My baby sister lives in Dallas, and she loads up with her girlfriends and goes to Canton for the most amazing finds...I just HATE that my JOB gets in the way of my SHOPPING !!! As for finding designer shoes... I am so THERE !!! I really do think that there are some good antique stores up around the lake ... seriously, we should get Judy and the 'locals' to hook us up!

Your grandson is too cute. Could you ever have imagined how great it is to be a GRAND? Steven gets 'The Baylee Look' on his face whenever he sees that little Princess...he adores the grandboys, but he always dreamed of a girl, and she just melts his heart...Imagine we are all those people dragging out pictures and bragging on their grands...and now I hear that Mary Ann is going to have TWINS, double the fun! We will all have to drag out those pictures at the reunion... ;-)

Steven has gone to bed...(left his computer on ~) he has an early tee time, and I have to go to work and save the airline ~ what fun to get to chat with you!

Hey there girls! Sounds like a road trip to me...I can't resist a good bargain. Any place to shop between Tulsa Airport and Vinita?
