Lavanna M. Hawkins (Morgan)

PAUL- HAPPY BIRTHDAY! THE BIG 60 WILL INCLUDE MOST OF US EXCEPT CARLA SHE WILL BE 60 THIS YEAR.
JAN- WE HAVE A HINSDALE HERE IN N.Y. IT'S A VERY SMALL TOWN ABOUT 6 MILES FROM WHERE I LIVE.

Actually Lavanna, there are several classmates turning 60 this year, but I won't name names. I'm pretty sure each one is just glad to be here to celebrate the date!

CARLA- SORRY DIDN'T MEAN TO TELL YOUR AGE AND STEP ON ANY TOES....

Janis Ann (Jan) Dirickson (Marshall)

Lavanna, Hinsdale MT is very small, but a nice little town. Everyone takes pride in their homes and yards, so that puts the pressure on us who hate yard work. I don't mind doing any outside horse/cow related work, but I hate yard work. But I do, cause I don't want to be the one who's the talk of the neighborhood. At least for that. I actually can see the yard today, yesterday there still was lots of snow piled up. I see it's 48 here right now and 50 in Vinita.

Carla - YES! I am on spring break, I've just been gone a few days to (Kansas City, where it seemed considerably colder)! But it has been nice enought here for a few long bike rides. One should never work in schools for the time off, but it sure is nice to have it. I think I can make it now!
Steve - Surely you got to do some golfing this week! When I went to Dink's - I remembered that I wanted to eat something that would make you miss the food - I couldn't remember what. So now I will remember onion strings next time.
ALL - I will be 59 soon and at times, I am painfully aware of it. I work with people who, for the most part are more than 10 years younger and several younger than my children. I'm just myself and try not to reminisce to much about when dirt was made or my better known cave wall etchings....

JAN- THAT'S WHY I'M GLAD TO BE LIVING IN A LOW-INCOME APT. BUILDING. I DON'T HAVE TO DO YARD WORK, NO CUTTING GRASS OR SHOVELING SNOW! THE MAITENANCE GUYS DOES ALL THAT. ALL I HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT IN THE WINTER IS TRYING NOT TO FALL WHEN I TAKE MY DOG FOR A WALK. OUR PARKING LOT GETS REALLY SLICK AND WITH ME HAVING OSTEOPEROSIS IT IS A GREAT CONCERN I HAVE TO WALK VERY SLOWLY. THANK GOODNESS I HAVE A VERY SMALL DOG. LOL

Mary Ann: It sucks when you look around and realize you are the oldest one in the room. But at least I'm upright in that room.

Hi Everyone! Sorry for the absence but I will try to do better. I'm guessing that Rodger and I have been married the longest...41 years last December 26th! Many of you should remember because you were there. I really don't know how I've done it all these years and of course you do remember that I was only 12 years old! Ha! Rhea

03/20/10 05:17 PM #1304

Steven Ray (Steve) Postier

Rhea- 12 years old and don't forget that you were pregnant.
Carla- What happens to Adam now?

03/20/10 06:55 PM #1305

Paul Ray Wever

Talk about being married early. There was a girl in our class (some of you might remember her - it wasn't Rhea) who got married when we were sophomores and had 3 children by the time that we graduated. I remember her and her family driving around town in a battered station wagon.

Janis Ann (Jan) Dirickson (Marshall)

Rhea, I knew after I asked that question that you were the winner. I for one was there right up at the alter with you and Rodger in that lovely lilac satin dress. Mother did something with the dress when they moved from Brewer. I remember it was a nice wedding and you looked like all brides should look. Rodger was pretty handsome too.

Paul, I sure don't remember who your talking about. Judy the historian might have to fill in the blanks, Have a good week.

Attached is a little video for all you snowbirds. I apologize, the garden is still not completely green yet.

Janis Ann (Jan) Dirickson (Marshall)

Paul, Thanks, that was lovely. But I think you;re rubbing it in.

03/23/10 10:53 PM #1310

Paul Ray Wever

Jan - I would never do that to you.....

03/24/10 11:45 AM #1311

Bruce Evans

Paul, is the video of you front yard or the back? And, do you pipe in the music for all your neighbors milling around?I know Jan misses her yard work but other than building Snow People and making neat piles what other yard work could she be doing?
Steve how's the next book coming alone? You should come down and do some research. I'm confused because I tee off and enter into an other worldly place. Then the next thing I know I emerge off the 18th green and I find myself "back" and having over-powering urges to tee off again. Ever have that happen?

03/24/10 12:20 PM #1312

Paul Ray Wever

Bruce - it's just a little acreage between the house and the outhouse. Jan could have the same effect, too. All she has to do is spray paint the snow green and make artistic mounds.

Carla Ray Williams (Yocum)

Paul-I could not find how to get the video of your garden! I love to work in my garden...it is a form of relaxation for me! I would love to see the video!

Lavanna-You did not throw me under the bus or step on my toes! I am not sensitive about my age! I certainly don't feel like I will be 60 this year but I will. I think my first graders keep me thinking young! I do have aches and pains but I try to ignore them when I can.

Steve-I think Sharon will take him back because she is a sucker for wanting love to work! She needs to be happy! They have kept her a victim too long! I also think he will hurt her again and she will get back with Nick! I think Adam is the biggest slum bag in the world! I am afraid that someone is going to interfer with the DNA test and Sharon will not know that Faith is her baby! This show has me screaming at the characters for how stupid they are! Can you believe the whole Emily/Patty story?

Bruce- You sound just like my husband! Can't you guys ever get enough golf? My lucky thing is I can spend dollar for dollar on my hobbies and collecting that he spends on golf! WOOOOH000!

03/24/10 04:18 PM #1314

Steven Ray (Steve) Postier

Bruce- Only when I play golf!!!

03/28/10 08:17 PM #1315

Rhea Joyce Freeman (Weaver)

Carla - I don't know anything about Adam but I think you might have meant "scumbag" instead of slum bag. :)
I think it's beginning to look like Spring here. How is it in Montana? Rhea

Just had an email from Connie Bullock Bowlin. She is to undergo a knee replacement on (tomorrow) Tuesday.

Wishing her Godspeed on her road to recovery.

Carla Ray Williams (Yocum)

Connie-I hope you have a speedy recovery!

03/30/10 09:39 AM #1318

Carla Ray Williams (Yocum)

Rhea-You are so right! He is a scum bag! I was so mad at him! He is a character on the "Young and the Restless"! I take my soaps seriously! I got the Soap channel so I can watch it at night! YR and General Hospital are my weakness! It lets me chill from my day with First Graders! The drama is about the same but on more of an adult level! Believe it or not, yesterday I had two little girls arguing over one of my little boys! The both say he "loves" them! I can not understand it! He is in trouble and in time out most of the time! I guess they have a "thing" for bad boys!
It is beautiful in Dallas right now! I am really hoping to have a beautiful Easter! I love Spring when all the flowers and trees start to do their thing!
Are you enjoying your job?
