Bruce...I can not believe that Steve's book did not help you!!!  Bill has really improved his game and has used it with his golfers on the team and one of them made it all the way to State Tournament and finished 2nd!  You might want to reread it and carry it in your bag to refer to in tight situations and difficult holes!

Steve...you might try revising your book and putting it in layman's terms!

Paul Ray Wever

Steve - Don't forget to use extra large print... remember who your reader is.....

Bruce Evans

Thanks for the encouragement Carla. I hope the comment about "tight situations and difficult holes" was not in reference to Tiger Woods. Paul, I always expand the font to size 16 b/4 reading.

Bruce - you're just too good.... I have to go to 24.

ALL- I HOPE EVERYONE HAD A GOOD MEMORIAL DAY WEEK-END. I HAD A VERY MEMORIAL DAY YESTERDAY, A DAY I WILL NEVER FORGET. I WAS OVER AT MY FRIENDS HOUSE AND HE WAS WATCHING UFC ( YUCK!) DOWNSTAIRS SO I WENT UPSTAIRS TO WATCH THE OTHER TV. I SAW ON THE TUBE THAT WE WERE GOING TO HAVE SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS SOON SO I STARTED DOWN THE STAIRS TO TELL HIM AND I GOT ALMOST ALL THE WAY DOWN WHEN ALL OF A SUDDEN I MISSED THE LAST STEP AND WENT FLYING AND HIT THE FLOOR WITH MY KNEES AND MY HANDS. (NO CARPETING JUST BARE CONCRETE FLOORS) OUCH!!!! DID THAT HURT. MY HANDS WERE OK BUT MY KNEES ARE BRUISED UP AND ONE KNEE HAS THE SKIN RIPPED OFF OF IT. IT IS BRIGHT RED AND THE SIZE OF A HALF DOLLAR. I DON'T KNOW WHAT IT IS ABOUT BEING AT HIS HOUSE AND HOLIDAYS. THIS IS THE THIRD TIME I'VE FALLEN AT HIS HOUSE! LOL

I WANT TO THANK ALL OF YOU WHO PRAYED FOR MY SISTER SHARON. SHE IS DOING VERY WELL AND WAS SUPPOSE TO COME HOME TODAY FROM THE NURSING HOME AFTER 5 MONTHS OF BEING GONE. AFTER LAYING 4 MONTHS FLAT ON HER BACK WITH A FEW WEEKS OF THERAPY SHE CAN NOW WALK WITH A WALKER. I PRAISE GOD FOR THIS MIRACLE IT GIVES ME HOPE THAT I WILL SEE HER AGAIN.

Mary Ann Johnson (Null)

Lavanna - I am very glad that your sister is doing better!  Therapy can make a huge difference. Sorry about your weekend end!

All - Hope you had a good and safe holiday.  I royally blew it, but it was still good.  I hadn't used my ice cream maker in several years and forgot that I had to freeze the containers for 24 hours prior to use - so I only made really good strawberry and really good peach milk. Braums is close by and the cake turned out good, so we had enough.  Mostly it's just fun to watch the little kids and talk.

Carla - Are you done with school yet?  Or should I ask if you are out of school, as most teachers are "done"  - even "well done" before the last week.  I have been out for one week, but going faster than I would like.  I have gotten to ride my bike alot and that's fun for me.

Carla Ray Williams (Yocum)

Mary Ann-I have made "milk" instead of ice cream too!  We still use my grandmother's old ice cream freezer!  It brings back memories of Memorial Days and Fourth of Julys of the past!  We use Sit on the blankets on top and still froze our behinds! We also had to crank for awhile!  But that ice cream was soooo good! I am still in school!  We go until June 10th!  It is so hot!!!!  I am wilting like a southern rose!!!  I am so jealous!  Our district goes 185 days!  We are the last school in Texas to let out!  We start back on August 23 and the teachers go back for in-service the week before!  I think this "old dog" is full of info...I do not think they can teach me anything new!  I am looking forward to scrapbooking, geneology, and being with my grandsons and spending time with my daddy!  I love to work in my garden...but it is too hot unless I go out at 6:00!  It is suppose to be 106 this weekend!

Lavanna-I am so happy to hear about your sister!  Are you still planning to move back?  I am sorry about your accident!  We are more accident prone now!  I am surprised you did not break anything!

All-I hope you had a lot of time to spend with your family!  We had our grandsons for the weekend while our daughter and her husband celebrated their 10th anniversary! Our grandson, Bennett, and I went to Vinita a couple of weeks ago and decorated all the Williams and Friend graves!  He is such a sweetie...he said a prayer at each grave and made his grandma Mary a special cross that he decorated his self!  I remember decorating the cemetary with my grandma and it is still one of my favorite memories!

Carla - remember when we were in grade school and the school buildings had no air conditioning or ceiling fans?  I remember by the time it got to May, it was so hot by early afternoon, all I could think about was putting my head down on the desk and taking a nap.

Lavanna M. Hawkins (Morgan)

MARY ANN & CARLA- THANKS FOR YOUR CONCERN. I AM NOT SURE WHETHER IT WILL BE OKLA. OR BACK TO PHX. I REALLY CAN'T MAKE UP MY MIND. I DO KNOW THOUGH NEXT YEAR WHEN I AM OUT OF DEBT THE FIRST PLACE I'M GOING IS TO MY SISTER IN CHELSEA. LORD WILLING SHE WILL STILL BE ALIVE AND ABLE TO VISIT WITH ME.  I'LL TRY TO LOOK UP WHOEVER IS STILL LIVING THERE IN VINITA. DON'T KNOW WHEN EXACTLY. I KNOW ONE THING I AM TIRED OF WANDERING, I WANT TO FIND A PLACE TO CALL "HOME" AND STAY THERE.

Bruce-  I got my dream job a couple of weeks ago.  I am still working for the man (AT&T) Monday thru Friday 8-5, but now on weekends I am a caddy at the new Patriot Golf Club here in Owasso.  They had their Grand Opening this past Memorial Day weekend.  They brought in some PGA pros to play with members of the military and well-to-do individuals.  Monday I caddied for Vince Gill.  He could not have been nicer.  He is a BIG guy that hits the ball a LONG way.  I was a fore caddie.  I rode in the cart with him and would run down the fairway to find their golf balls and calculate the yardage.  I would then clean their golf balls and read their putts.  I had a 5 some to take care of.  It was quite a challenge.  Vince is really a good golfer.  He had never seen this course before but would have shot under par.  It was a 'shamble'.  The course has so much elevation change (google patriot golf club dot com) that, as a fore caddie, you ride in or on the cart of one of the players.  I rode with Vince.  Mark O'Meara was in the group behing us, so I got to meet him.  Mike Reid (Older guy, you would recognize him if you saw him) was in the group ahead of us.  Vince was the headliner that evening at the Hard Rock Casino in Owasso.  It took 7 hours to play our round.  He was a VERY good 'tipper'.  When you come up this summer you can play the course (1 time for $175 + caddie fees), but only if you ask for me to be your caddie.  The Director of Golf EXPECTS us (The caddies) to play as often as we possibly can to get familiar with the course.  I HATE that!!!  The company that I am an Independent Contractor to also provides caddies for Augusta, Doral, Peeble Beach, and Pinehurst.  The two guys that trained us were from Pinehurst.  Eat your heart out!!!

OK, Steve I am offically One-Upped. I give. You win. You the Man. I can't wait to have you caddy for me. But, did you get joint replacements or what? I thought your wheels were shot.

06/02/10 08:44 PM #1387

Steven Ray (Steve) Postier

Bruce-  I got the 'total' knee replacement a year and half ago.  It has been great since.  Did I mention that the company that I am working for is 'caddiemaster'?  They want to hire me to go around to their places to train their new caddies.  I'm under contract with AT&T till the end of the year and then I think that I would consider their offer.

Ask some of the caddy masters if they know Mike Moroney; he caddies fore Michael Allen. He was a track & field athlete at UTexas when I coached there.

Steven Ray (Steve) Postier

Bruce-  Does he work for Caddiemaster?

06/08/10 12:47 AM #1390

Mary Ann Johnson (Null)

Steve - I had no idea!  I am really glad for you - to work in something that you love anyway is a wonderful opportunity!  You know I had the knee done too and I have been so appreciative.  That is the only reason I can go 12 or more miles almost daily ( cycling).

Carla - Hang on - summer is coming!  I have enjoyed my grandkids so much already.  We've had some bike rides, done parks and visited the library.  Ringling Brothers, Barnum and Baily Circus will be at the BOK center in Tulsa and grandma is taking 7 excited kids, from ages 3 to 10 years old. The first few days are so wonderful, to not have to get up ( at 5:30 for me).  Teachers are just so worn out, from hyped up kids and all the end of the year stuff.

Steve - Haven't been to the BOK yet - where is the best place to park? Well, I have been there only to pick up tickets because they would charge 8.75 for each ticket, in addtion to the ticket price to reserve by phone or email!  That's a lot when nine people are going.

Paul and Carla - I would not be out anywhere it is 106 in June!  It has been hotter than usual here - 90's are bad enough!  I try to be in from cycling by 10:00 AM.  When I was a kid, I remember sleeping with the attic fan on and getting cold enough to pull up a quilt by early morning.  We had a "window cooler" in the back room of our house - Maybe it could drop the temp 15 degrees - but it also added moisture to air.  I don't remember thinking anything about the heat when I was a kid, but I didn't like getting out of the bath and not really ever getting dry, because of the humidity.  I also remember cotton dresses getting wrinkled ( after so much ironing)!  Remeber how cool the heavy double knit clothes were, when they first came out ( cool as in fashion, not temp)! Vickie, I can't recall her last name ( 2 or 3 years older than us) had the first car that I remember with air conditioning that came up from the back window area from 2 plastic cones like funnels. I was impressed and we could stick our arms in the funnels ( of course, no one else got air that way) - that's probably why I only remember riding in her mom's car once.

Carla Ray Williams (Yocum)

Mary Ann-That could have been Vickie Hildebrand or Vickie Lane.  We took Bennett to the circus last summer and he loved it!!!  He still talks about it! I only have two more days and Summer glorious Summer will be here!  If you hear a loud noise on Thurday at 1:30 it is me down here in Texas saying praise the Lord I'm done!  This has been a rough year!

Mary Ann Johnson (Null)

Carla - I'll be listening at 1:30.  Have you seen the commercial (it's about one year old -for Son, I think) about the high school kids leaving school excitedly and then the back door explodes open and the teachers are about 100xs as wild when they leave.  One teacher was walking through the hall in my school, before the last day and started shouting "Whoop whoop"!  And it was Vickie Lane's mom's air conditioned car - thanks!

Our thought and prayers go out to Steven Postier for a complete and speedy recovery after suffering a mild heart attack while at the golf course on Sunday, June 6th.

After undergoing a heart cath on Tuesday, he was diagnoised with blockages in auxiliary arteries which are deemed a nuisance not a threat.  Medication will hopefully keep them from becoming a bigger nuisance.  No surgery or stints are required at this time.

Steven is scheduled to be released from the hospital today.

You may email Steven at: spostier@gmail.com
