ALL- WHEN PUTTING GROCERIES IN THE FREEZER AND SOME OF THEM START FALLING OUT MAKE SURE YOU CLOSE THE FREEZER DOOR BEFORE YOU BEND OVER TO PICK THEM UP OR YOU WILL END UP WITH A CONCUSSION. THAT'S WHAT HAPPENED TO ME YESTERDAY I PICKED THEM UP WITH THE FREEZER DOOR STILL OPEN AND I STOOD STRAIGHT UP AND HIT MY HEAD REALLY HARD ON THE OPEN FREEZER DOOR. A COUPLE HOURS LATER I KNEW I HAD A SLIGHT CONCUSSION. TODAY MY HEAD IS STILL FUZZY AND IT IS KILLING ME. IT IS A STRANGE HEADACHE AND YOU DO THINGS IN SLOW MOTION. THAT'S A CONCUSSION. IT'S BEEN 4 TIMES I'VE HAD HARD HITS TO MY HEAD IN MY LIFE. I'M STILL ALIVE, JUST A KLUTZ......

Happy Belated Birthdays to all of you. 60!  Holy Smokes. Weren't we just 16 a short time ago? We like most everyone have been affected by the storm. We have over 70 inches of snow and the temp this morning was -37 with a wind chill of -57. Talked to Chuck this morn and he said he had 12" and that was early. Just looked at Tulsa on-line and it looks like Hinsdale MT. Anyway it's too cold for man or beast. Let the dog stay in last night a 1st, but he's older and alone now, no one to snuggle with. Well I hope everyone is ok and riding out the storm in a safe warm place. Jan

OK Jan...I have to know.  How do you even open your door with 70" of snow?!  Is that a typo? I thought we were having a rough winter but that is ridiculous.  I think I'm going to look for a warmer climate... ~Rhea

I just  noticed it's in the 70's outside, which means that you folks will be thawing out eventually.

Carla Ray Williams (Yocum)

Paul...I am coming to visit you to get out of the cold and into the 70's!  We are to get more snow tonight!!!  I have lived in Texas for over 20 years and if you added all the snow together we have had more in the past week!  I would not mind if the people down here knew how to drive in it or the work crews could clear the roads!  So far we have bought sand and salt from other places (we did not have enough)  and electricity from Mexico!  It's not like they did not warn us it was coming!!! Now it is coming again...I wonder if they are ready for it this time!

Steve-I can not believe they killed off Cain!!!!  I am a little put out with some of the story lines right now!  The baby that Billy and Victoria adopted is what's her name and what's his name??? (Yes, I am having a Senior Moment or maybe a snowed in and delirious moment!)

Jan-You have my deepest sympathy for living with 70 inches of snow!  I can not even imagine how that must be!!!  What do you do when you are "holed up"?  I cook and worry about not getting to the store for supplies and groceries!!  We almost ran out of toliet paper...but I was well stocked with old magazines in an emergency!  We only had about 2 inches of ice and 8 inches of snow!  I feel like such a weinie when Oklahoma had so much and you are snowed in all winter!

Carla - It's gotten cold again - today's its in the 60's....

At least you have a governor who is so full of hot air that he should be able to melt all the snow on his own.

Carla Ray Williams (Yocum)

You don't even live in Texas and you have our Govenor all figured out! He is pretty sorry!!! I can't believe he keeps getting reelected! People are so fooled by him!!

02/08/11 11:50 PM #1508

Paul Ray Wever

Carla - Your Governor Good Hair Perry (as Molly Ivins called him) has had the tendency to say some rather unfortunate remarks that have hit the national press.  His latest bad press was his being in the much warmer Southern California to celebrate Reagan's 100th birthday at the same time Texas was being smothered in snow and ice and not immediately returning home.

I think I have it figured out as to where to go to get away from the cold, snow and winter. Paul's house. Sure hope he has a adequate supply of toilet paper.

Rhea, the new tally is 80.5 inches of snow. As to getting out the door. You push really hard to open enough to squeeze out, then grab the shovel. We have 3 doors and there is only 1 we can squeeze out of. Today is pretty nice, that means no new snow the sun is shining and very little wind, but it is -20. Our kids go out for recess on days like this.

Carla. you can also use cat litter on icy spots. Lots of folks carry it in their trunks to use if they get stuck.

Up here our counties and state are prepared for winter, even the tough ones. So our roads are clear (today) anyway. Everyone be safe

When is this going to end?  We are digging out again today and the wind chill is 8 at the moment.  Too cold to stay out very long, even when dressed for it.   We were first forecast this second time around to get just a few inches, but guess what?   We are on the upper edge of where it snowed the most!  Tuesday is forecast to be 62 degrees, come on Tuesday!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Steve and Bruce where are you!!  I need someone to be upset with me over Y&R!  What is going on?  Now Ronan will not make it through the surgery?  Who is next?  I guess Sharon will end up with life in prison or lethal injection!  I am not doing well with all these issues and the snow to boot!

Paul...your house is looking better all the time...but we would have to go through 4 states of snow to get there!  It is suppose to be in the 60's this Sat. and Sun. !  I am trying to hang on till then!

Jan our delicate Texas kids can't go out if the Temp is below 34!!!

All-stay warm and safe!  We will survive!

Janis Ann (Jan) Dirickson (Marshall)

Carla, no fooling if the wind isn't blowing the kids do go outside. But it's what you're use to. Our kids would hate the heat and humidity. Talked to Judy this morning -25 in Vinita, holy smokes. I bet there will be frozen/broken water pipes.  A hot brandy sure helps ease the cold, and if you drink enough you don't care. Works for me. Stay warm.
