Wall High School Soccer- Teams possessed 2 Coaches who were super, Tom Farley and Jim Carhart (together they have coached nearly 50 years and combined they won nearly 700 games). Tom Farley won National Coach of the Year in 1979. Jim Carhart has won Regional and State Coaching Honors Multiple times. Two players, cited below are most unique to the program. First came Tom Kain and he is listed below...HS and 4 Time College All American, National Team, US Youth World Cup Player, Professional European Soccer Player....1985 Tom Kain wins the Hermann Award as the Nations Best College Soccer Player while at Duke University. 1984 he was runner-up. George Gelnovatch made a huge impact on this program himself. It should also be noted that oddly enough George Gelnovatch and Tom Kain were neighbors growing. George was a HS and College All American, US Youth Soccer Team Member and was Runner-up as the Nations Best College Soccer Player at University of Virginia. George Played Soccer Professionally on all levels. He has been a member of the US World Cup Soccer Coaching staff for years and has been Head Coach of the University of Virginia Soccer Team fo 17 seasons. George was recently chosen College Soccer Coach of the Year as The University of Virginia won The NCAA Championship December,2009..On May 5, 2009, the first annual Squall was conducted at Wall High School. The Squall combined two rival high schools (Wall and Manasquan) and for one day, broke down the barriers between them. Rather than Wall competing against Manasqaun; the seniors of both schools versed the juniors of both schools in events including tug of war, volleyball, three legged race and more. Two masters of ceremony conducted the event, a DJ played music, and three restaurants sold food. T shirts were given to the participants and sold to spectators. The gymnasium was packed with students from both schools and since the feedback was so good, that Squall is being held again in 2010. Notable Alumni
