Hey Ralph. I really do think they are!! Just kidding. With all that showed up I don't think I would have been missed. Looks like a nice size crowd came. I checked out the pics that Donald took and can't wait to see the rest of them. Ohhhh, believe me...Ann and I WANTED to be there. This was one time I couldn't get out of it. Believe me, the next one I will attend no matter what takes place! Hope to see you before the next reunion.

I would like to thank all of the members of the reunion committee for making it such a memorable 40th reunion. It was so good to see all of my fellow classmates. There was only one person there that I did not recognize immediately. It's funny how most of us have not changed in facial features anyway, since we were in the 1rst grade. There were many people that were missed, and some that were supposed to attend that did not make it for whatever reason. The only thing that we did not do, and I thought about it as soon as we pulling out of the Country Club, was take a class photo of the occasion. I would like to thank Margaret Moseley Dandridge for persuading me to go in the first place. She and Sissy made it so much more enjoyable for me by making sure I was included in the dancing(I have become such a klutz). Pam, Debbie and countless others made me feel as if high school had just been a year or two ago. Now, that's a trick, isn't it! To all of you that did not make it to the reunion...you'll just have to make up for it at the next one! God bless each and every one of you for there has "Never Been So Fine As The Class of '69"

I had a great time at Alta Mae's house on Friday night and a much enjoyable time Saturday night. I am so glad I came...wouldn't miss it in 5 years for nothing in the world! All the hard work that was put in it was greatly appreciated. Everyone looks great and appears very young and energetic.
God Bless all.

Sorry I couldn't be there (I was stuck in China). Looks like a wonderful party. I was looking over the class list and wondered if anyone knew about Charlie VonLehe, Scooter Murray, Tommy Howell, or Jim Foley?

06/03/09 02:49 PM #105

Cindy Jones (Berl)

I don't know about them Tommy, so please tell.

Tommy, all four are local. Scooter and Charlie are married.(not to each other) Tommy Howell was at the reunion. Jim Foley had indicated that he was coming but did not make it. He helps take care of his mother.

Joanne--thank goodness--I thought it was bad news. Glad to hear all o.k. & Scooter and Charlie aren't married!!! Could you picture that?? Do you know what happened with Mar Elia?? After seeing the pictures of Alta Mae's house inside--I dreamed I was living back in W'boro & hosting tons of cocktail parties.

Tommy Howell attended the Saturday night event. CHarlie is married and went to Santee with family for Memorial Weekend. I saw Charlie just before the reunion, both he and Tommy look great and are doing well. I have not seen Scooter in a while, my children were in school with his son Tommy so I use to see him a lot. He is also still a lot of fun. I saw Jim Foley several aweeks ago at Wal mart, he is living with his mother and is the same.

Janice Morris Young's husband, Bill, has been elected Mayor of Walterboro. Congratulations to them both.

As usual, Alta Mae is on the ball. I am glad our new Mayor has ties to the Class of 69. I saw him yesterday at the poll and told them both what a wonderful time they missed by not being able to attend the reunion. Another little Class of 69 tidbit, I saw in the Press that our own Mike Haddock won a riding lawn mower at Ace Hardware. Never so fine, as the CLASS OF 69.

Hi all: Larry and I had such a good time at the reunion; every time we think about it, we both smile at the memory. Because I didn't drink I actually remember conversations and could talk without saying lord knows what. ;-)

Larry and I finally arrived in Maine on Sunday and we're here until around July 21st. If anyone of you, ever, ever comes to Maine for a vacation, you are welcome to stay with us for a while. We arrive here each summer beginning around mid-June and we'll be here until the first of August...at least until Larry finishes up his time at the University of Wyoming, then we'll stay in Maine until the leaves change color in October. We have two extra bedrooms and you've got your own bathroom. We are one hour from Portland and about the same to Camden, Maine. Lots of scenery, good food, low humidity, and things to do and see. We are right on Linekin Bay in East Boothbay. And, Larry's a great cook in case you want some home-cooking! Call us up at 207-633-5468.

Again, thanks for a wonderful reunion.

P. S. As soon as we can get more settled in, we'll upload photos of the reunion. We're off today to find a computer desk/table.

Judy Smith's mother passed way yesterday. The funeral and visitation will be Friday, July 3 at Bethel Presbyterian Church. The funeral is at 1:00 and visition will be before the funeral, burial will be in Williams. She had been living with Judy's younger sister Crickett in Round-O. Judy is heading home today and will be in SC for about 2 weeks. I am hoping she will stay in Walterboro with me through the weekend or first of the week. If you cannot attend the funeral and want to try to see Judy let me know and I will try to make connections.
I will post Judy's mailing address at another time, I am at work and her address is at home.
Take care, Alta Mae

Judy, I am so sorry to hear about your Mom. You are in my prayers. May you and your family find some peace at this time. Take care. I am sorry I will not be able to attend the funeral. I would love to see you. I think the last time was at United Methodist Church (a very long time ago)

Judy, I am so very sorry for your loss. She was a genuine, beautiful, southern lady. She always had time to give help as she often did for me with framing. I remember what a great mom she was when we were young. Please know that you are in my prayers. Love ya girl, Pam

Judy does not use e-mail but I have been giving her your kind words of concern and comfort. While she is heartbroken about her mother, she loved being in Walterboro and truly happy to see some of her friends. If any of you want her address so you can send her a card, e-mail me at marvinamh@yahoo.com and I will give it to you.
Take care, Alta Mae

Hi everyone: I've had a heck of a time trying to figure out how to get these reunion photos available online and I think I just "got it."

These are selected photos, as Larry took a lot more than what is in this album. Sorry if I appear in many of the photos but it was my husband with the camera. :)

Go to Google and put into the search area Picasa. When you get to Picasa put into the search album area: C_selections_WHS Reunion May'09.

I hope this works - there are some good photographs to add to those in Don's album. Someone let me know if this has worked. I've sent the same album directly to Danny, so if this fails, maybe someone more expert than I can figure it out. Thanks Don for your attempt to enlighten me!

I hope everyone is having a good summer. Can't wait to see you guys again. Everyone stay safe and well.

Hey all. I finally broke down & went thru a box of my mother's things. Found my high school scrapbook--found 3 intact "wildcat" newspaper & lots of press & standard (15 cents) articles & cut out pictures of alot of us. Best part was turning over the articles & seeing the prices of things back then!! I am willing to send these things to a person to see & then that person send to someone else, etc, etc. Alta Mae: can you figure out something? I do want all to see these things but don't want one person to fall down on sending to next---who am I kidding-we are the class of '69 and would never do something like that.
Let me here some ideas. Hope all is well with everyone-We have a new houseguest staying with us until her husband sells their house in Kansas City. Am under a little stress but she is originally from Georgia and loves fresh country vegies like me. Will be coming to w'boro in next couple weeks with a friend to pick up a load of horse hay from Mr. Benton.
Take care

Cindy, why don't you bring the items to Walterboro when you come. We can scan them into my computer, then e-mail to Danny to add to the CD with the pictures. Just a thought.
Take care, Alta Mae
