Moved to Toledo Ohio in 1971. I went to trade school in 1972, and became a machinist after a 4 year apprenticeship with a glass manufacturer. After 15 years as a machinist I joined the Toledo Police Dept. in September 1988. I met and remarried (Rosemary Meitinger) in June 1989. I met my wife in the St. Vincent's hospital ER Room as I was arresting suspects for treatment while she was finishing her residency in pediatrics. We then had two wonderful girls... Laura and Mary. I also have a son-in law who is on the Columbus Police Dept for the past 6 years.I retired from the Toledo Police Dept. after 31 years in July 2019. I have worked in various divisions within the department, including Field Operations, the Crime Analysis Unit / Investigation Unit, and retired in the Property Management Section. I was also a member of the police hostage negotiation team. After 31 years, nothing surprises me anymore on how people act towards one another. For recreation I enjoy traveling to Hilton Head Island each year, relaxing on the beach, playing golf, and spending quality family time, especially with my grandson. I still have fond memories of my years at Wilby, and look back to where the years have gone when I open my year book. If any classmates are ever going through the Toledo area please look me up.
