Betty passed away on August 20, 2014 in Upland, CA at the age of 91. She lived in Waterbury from 1925 to 1959. While at Wilby, Betty was a top student, a flag carrier, Senior Class Secretary, and voted "Most All Around Girl". Betty and her husband Dick moved to California in 1959. Betty worked several jobs, including legal secretary, clerk in the Ontario-Montclair school district, finally retiring in the 80's. Her passion in life was her family. Betty was an avid UCLA fan and was a member of the Montclair Walker Choral Group. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard (Dick) Kruse (also a Wilby Graduate, class of 1940) and is survived by her daughters Betty, Debbie and son Richard all of California.

Linda, this is Betty's son Richard. Thank you for posting this memorial about my mother. It's much appreciated. My father's best friend at Wilby was Joe Marinara, who passed away a few years ago. Joe thought my mother was the best looking girl at Wilby, and told my father that he couldn't understand how he got my mother to be his girlfriend. Joe, my father and my mother and Joe's wife Bobbie remained friends to the end. Bobbie is still going strong. Joe and Bobbie Marinara are my younger sister, Debbie's, godparents.
