Most people remember me as Danny DeWald but I now go by Danny Shipman(my real birth name)I've lived in San Francisco for over 20 years but have been a fixture in the bay area's thrash metal Scene for over 25 years!I live & breath Metal & also dig punk & loud kick ass drinking music!I really like theatrical shock rock bands.I host & edit San Francisco's award winning underground cable show "Reality Check".Since 1993 I've had just about every band I've grown up on.Mostly cult bands unknown in the mainstream but have legendary status to the people that know them.My goal is to turn the public on to these obscure underground bands& keep their legacy & genres alive!I've made the TV show I've most wanted to see.We cover all styles of Metal, punk & even do non musical stuff like Pro Wrestling,Adult film stars(our most popular features),Sci Fi,comic book,& Horror film conventions,S&M fetish events & parties. We're dedicated to decadence & all things over the top & SICK!!Outragousness!
I'm also a huge Pro Wrestling fan.I've been watching pro wrestling on TV for over 30 years!I'm just as much an expert on wrestling as I am on Metal & most music.I do video for an independent local wrestling organization Big Time Wrestling(BTW)I produce DVDs of their shows & our own Dragon Dave of "Reality Check TV" is the Heel commentator.
My experience with the show & being in the scene has landed me in a couple of documentaries.I'm in 2 Metallica Documentaries released on DVD.One is called "Out of the Loop"(also released as "Dark Souls")The other one I'm in is called "Metallica:Kill 'em All to St. Anger".I helped out heavily in the production of both docs, donated & sold footage,& hooked the producers up with the right people to interview.I also helped out with the documentary "Get Thrashed" both being interviewed & donating memorabilia,I was also interviewed for Slayer's "War at the Warfield" DVD but was cut out unfortunantely.I also appear in the DVD documentary on legendary Bay Area Thrash Band Vio-lence & helped out in the production of that & shot footage for it.I'm always looking for more stuff to be involved in & hope to start making a living bringing the underground to the masses!
