I worked and retired from the Wayne County Board Of Education as a school bus driver. I was also elected to the WV State Legislature in 1996. Had 2 successful re-elections, and had to resign in the year 2000 after a fall that left me basically immobile for several years. I really enjoyed serving the people of Wayne County and being their voice in Charleston at the State Legislature. It was a great learning process, was super educational to me, and I stayed extra busy while serving there. One of the hardest jobs I ever had that I actually LOVED doing, besides hauling my little kids I came to love on my school bus route. They were ALL like my own after a while and I came to cherished each of them.

I'm now both retired and disabled. I try to have fun collecting coins, enjoying my grand daughters, and riding my Harley Davidson Road King Classic Motorcycle when I feel up to it. I also stay in touch with a lot of people on my computer. However, I still wish I was working again and feeling good again more than anything else. I miss the life of a working man.

Works for the 2nd largest land owner corporation in the U.S. She is a supervisor there also. She does their computer databases, etc. etc. And she still finds time to be a great mamaw too.

September 8th, 1972

Michelle Lynn Damron Callen, age 35. She is a school teacher at West Virginia's Clendenin Elementary School where she lives with her husband and our 2 grand children.

Debbie and I were married right after graduation (September 8th, 1972) and Michelle, our only child, was born on October 5th, 1976. As I stated earlier, She is a school teacher now at Clendenin, WV.

I am retired from the Wayne County Board Of Education. I was also elected 3 terms and served in the West Virginia State Legislature. I resigned right after winning the 2000 re-election because of a fall that left me immobile for a LONG period of time. I did quite a bit of damage to myself and since then I've gotten older and I guess the car wrecks (from my high school days with Brent) are now catching up with me as well? LOL....

Debbie is still working and at this time it is for the largest land company in the U.S. (other than the Federal Govt.) where she now holds the position of supervisor. And knowing her, she'll work until she can't go any more. She really likes her job (along with the pay & perks!!!) LOL....

Since I lost Brent I have changed some. Not as clownish and witty as before. When he passed, a good portion of me died right along with him. A LOT of my foolishness and my clownish behavior sort of left me. God how I miss my friend!! It really does hurt........

Debbie and I have lived in South Point, Ohio now for 12 years and we like it quite well.
In our spare time and when my health allows, we like riding our Harley Davidson Road King Classic Motorcycle. She's one sexy looking "momma" with her dew-rag and boots, all laid back and rolling down the road at 70 mph!!! LOL....

I really miss seeing "ALL" of you and would love to have the time and opportunity to just sit down and catch up with everyone, ye know. That's about it for me except I now have 2 grand-daughters, (one is 3 years old, and the other is 6 years old, both born in the month of May.) PS: If you hear anything bad or mischievous on me from my High School Days, just remember this, Chester Napier, David Ransbottom, & 3-4 others from those days are still bad to lie on me! LMBO....

Wayne County WV until 2000 when we (Debbie and I) moved to South Point, OH. We own our home and we really like it here but you just can't take the COUNTRY out of a man like you think. I still miss the rural life quite a bit but I know I'm better off right where I'm at. I really like it here but it's NOT Newtown of Wayne County, or Ferguson Branch either. LOL....... Who knows? I may just return there some day?

Play with my Granddaughters, Hunt just a little (basically within seeing distance of my truck), fish, ride my Harley Davidson Road King Classic Motorcycle when I feel up to it, I also collect and make FULL coin collections, collect a few pocket knives and mess with old carpenter hand tools and lot's of guns.

Go to Alaska, Africa, and Australia and take a 11 day fun ship cruise to anywhere!! Debbie is afraid it (the ship) will either wobble and make her sick, or it'll be one of the worst sunken tragedies since the Titanic! Looks like if I go I'll go alone, if/when I ever go on one now.

Being in the WV Legislature and seeing my 2 grand daughters born.

Work has taken me to several places, but the most memorable one was New Orleans during the end of Marti-Graw. I went as a Union Representative, (President of Local 3300--AFL-CIO.) However, I have traveled almost everywhere East of Missouri, but I was just loafing around then too. Just enjoying life as best I know.

LOL .. Too many to count but one does stand out!! I was taking a written test in Mrs. Lafferty's class and walked up to the pencil sharpener to sharpen my pencil and she allowed me to get all the way up there before she told me, I couldn't get out of my seat to do that during a test. SO, I just ripped the sharpener, screws and all from the wall, walked back to my seat, sat down, held the sharpener with one hand and sharpened my pencil on my desk while my little brother, Brent Berry laughed out loud from the very back of the room. Her mouth was wide open, her eyes looked twice their size, and she was as white as chalk!! She never said ONE WORD to me!! Nobody was allowed to get up anyway, so I didn't cause any problems for anyone else and I still have that same pencil sharpener today out in my garage!!

OH YEAH! Taking Chester Napier home one morning to get a tie for picture day and only having like 30 minutes to do so! I lost a hubcap off my car flying so fast, but he got his picture taken!!! LMBO.......

The 500 unit WAS my hangout and the teacher that actually helped me the most was Byford Osburn. He used his spare "planning period" to tutor me to where it would allow me to get a credit for a required subject I needed to graduate. I'll always be thankful to him for that very important favor. He was a good man.

Mine and Brent's life was an open book for everyone to see. We drank LOTS of Beer, shot lot's of pool, enjoyed the company of a good decent woman, :-), and we wrecked a LOT of FAST cars. Nothing was ever dull. But somehow we made it to marry, raise a family, enjoy grand kids, and even retire from our jobs. If anyone enjoyed life and High School any better than Brent and I, they'll have to tell me about it and prove it. Lord knows we didn't hide anything. We was what we was, and that was just crazy and enjoying life to the fullest. "YOU" ought to know--YOU were there too! WELL, you didn't see much of us our senior year, but we were there at times!Hehehehe......

I think we should have it early - like in late June before everyone has gotten tired of summer and the "vacations from hell" I'm told of by friends!! Have it on a warm and pretty day, no rain, and low or NO humidity. Don't have it in Florida, we didn't graduate from there. BUT, if we ever did have it in Florida, the classmate(s) living there should provide all room and board, and other essentials for everyone that shows up. Yeah, I like that and I bet I have other takers on that idea too?? You asked, and I delivered! LOL.....

Life is ever SO much like a vapor and you had better enjoy everything, and everyone, especially your friends, while you can, because your cut down in life sooner than you want and life's just far too short and too fragile, no matter how LONG you live. Remember yesterday, think of tomorrow, and live for today.
