My husband retired from the tool and die trade when we both decided to become auctioneers.

I have two children Charles Anthony Spurlock age 35 and Kristin Jean Spurlock age 30. I also have five stepsons ranging in age from 39 to 27.

One gorgeous grandaughter 11 months old and her name is Antasia Clara-Anne Spurlock

Wow! Hard to recap the last 37 years! I cannot believe it has been that long. I'll try to keep this brief. After High school I attended Marshall University. Married in 1973 and had my son (Charles Anthony Spurlock) in 1974 all while attending college. Graduated from the Marshall University School of Nursing in 1976. Worked at Cabell Huntington Hospital as a registered nurse in the operating room for a couple of years before moving to Florida in 1978. Had my daughter (Kristin Jean Spurlock) in 1979. Worked in local hospitals, mostly in the operating room, but also did some private duty nursing and other jobs on the side. Divorced in 1985(?) (It's such a nightmare, I can't remember the exact date). Met my future husband in 1988, and married him in 1990. (I think I did it right the second time). We have had several businesses-machine shop, manufacturer of paddle games, courier services, thrift store, most of these businesses we had while I was still working as a nurse. All that changed in 1997 when I attended Auctioneering school. In 1998 I retired from nursing (license is still current) and became a full tiime auctioneer. I guess that superlative "Biggest Talker" was accurate because I make my living now talking just as fast as I can! We have our own auction house and we conduct weekly estate auctions. I do all of the buying, internet advertising including web site maintenance, auction set up and most of the auctioneering! Never a dull moment!! We are all in good health. The greatest thing that has happened recently was the birth of my Grandaughter Fantasia Clara-Anne who was born 8-8-08. I intend to come "home" as soon as I can, at least for the summers). I hope everybody updates their profile so I can catch up with you all! I hope to see you all in August!

I would have to say that auctioneering and the people I come in contact with in the course of my duties is the most interesting because you never know who or what you will come face to face with!

Slop day! Vicky Toney marching the wrong way during halftime! Making the honor roll, band and glee club!

Mrs Carolyn Hale Glee Club. She was very nice and she inspired me. Although I did not pursue Music for a career I gained a lot of confidence in her class. My favorite hangout was wherever my friends were!
