REUNION DETAILS:

Friday, June 24, 2011 Reunion Meet & Greet Event

Where: Oasis Restaurant & Pub

           305 East Main Street, Waynesboro, VA (next to Tastee Freeze & Dupont Bank)

Come out to Oasis to start off the Reunion Weekend in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Oasis is a new addition to the Waynesboro social scene and has created an up to date and state of art gathering place for anyone looking for a good time without any negative energy. On Friday, June 24th we will hold our Reunion Meet & Greet Event at Oasis and take advantage of their premiere karoake system which includes a 227" high definition screen and thousands of songs! Admission to the Meet & Greet Event is included in the reunion ticket cost for all guests that arrive between 8-9pm. Noone will be allowed entrance during this time without their reunion identification that will be provided in each Reunion Information Packet during Reunion Weekend. If you choose to arrive after 9pm you will have to pay th normal $5 cover charge. The restaurant will be reserved for WHS's Class of 2001 during the first hour (from 8-9pm) but will be open to the public afterwards. Plan to stay past 9pm, invite all of your old friends that attended other WHS classes or area schools & karaoke the night away!!!! Oasis offers various drink & appetizer specials that you will not want to miss (you must be 21 years or older & have proper identification to consume alcohol). This event is only for adults 18 years or older.

Saturday, June 25, 2011 Semi-Formal Dinner and Dance

Where: Best Western of Waynesboro

           109 Apple Tree Lane, Waynesboro, VA (down from Golden Corral and Cracker Barrel)

The second event of the Reunion Weekend will be a semi-formal dinner and dance. The dinner will begin at 5:30pm and will include delicious catered choices for almost every taste pallet. All dinner choices, non-alcohol beverages, and a choice of alcohol beverages are included in the ticket price. There will be dinner entertainment including a memory game with alumni volunteers, slideshow, military salute and a memorial for classmates that have passed away. Once the dinner portion concludes we will proceed to "dance, dance, dance the night away" to all of your favorite hits from the 90's and early 2000's with a fun and talented area Dj. Feel free to send a message through the "Contact Us" page if you have ANY particular songs that you want to hear that night. The dance segment of the night will end at midnight. This event is for adults 18 years or older. Anyone planning to consume any alcohol beverages must be 21 years or older and have proper identification.

 Sunday, June 26, 2011 Reunion Picnic

Where:  Ridgeview Park-Woodland Shelter & Amphitheater

            South Magnolia Street, Waynesboro, VA

To end the Reunion Weekend we will wind down with a fun picnic. The picnic will be geared towards families and include children's activities and adult games. However, if you have not settled down and made a family yet we still want you there! We have reserved the Woodland Picnic Shelter for seating but feel free to bring your own outdoor chairs and spread out throughout other areas of the park. The amphitheater area has been reserved for children's and adult games. Specific information regarding the games will be provided in the Reunion Information Packet that will be available for pick up during the Reunion Weekend. All food items and non-alcoholic drinks are included in the ticket price.  Although entry to the War Memorial Pool is not included in the ticket cost you may want to enjoy a dip in our hometown pool while spending the afternoon in the sun. For more information on pool hours and rates you may contact their staff at (540)942-6767. This event is open to children and adults of all ages that have completed the online registration.

 Sunday, June 26, 2011 WHS Renovations Tour

Where:  Waynesboro High School

            1200 West Main Street, Waynesboro, VA

After the Reunion Picnic a tour of the new Waynesboro High School will be available for interested Class of 2001 Alumni. Shortly after the WHS Class of 2001 gradutated Waynesboro was able to make much needed updates and renovatins to Waynesboro High School. Today, the school does not resemble  the WHS of yesteryear that we were once familiar with. If you are interested in seeing the changes while taking a stroll down memory lane and the halls of WHS please attend this tour. It will begin at 3:30pm and be led by our former teacher and coach, Tim Teachey. Mr. Teachey is now the WHS Principal and excited about the opportunity to lead a tour with his former students. There will be a 15 alumni minimum requirement for the tour to be conducted as scheduled. All alumni, guests, and families are welcome to attend the tour.

  • Weekend discount rates at the Best Western of Waynesboro are available for all WHS Class of 2001 Reunion attendees.   • All WHS Class of 2001 Alumni & adult guests must pick up their Reunion Information Packet in person during Reunion Weekend. Pick up times are scheduled for Friday, June 24th from 5:00-6:00pm & Saturday, June 25th from 10:00-11:00am at the Best Western of Waynesboro. A message with instructions and directions for picking up your packet will be emailed prior to Reunion Weekend. You will not be able to enter reunion events without your reunion identification that will be provided in each packet.
  • All adult attendees for Friday and Saturday's events MUST BE 18 years or older; anyone that plans to consume alcohol must be 21 years or older with proper identification.
  • All guests that plan to consume alcohol will be expected to consume modestly. All attendees are expected to behave responsibly at all times or will be required to leave an event if they are not conducting themselves in an appropriate manner. Responsibility includes planning transportation in advance. The Planning Committee will not be held liable for any and all irresponsible or endangering behavior from any attendee. YOU WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE IF YOU CAN NOT ACT RESPONSIBLY. REMEMBER TO BE RESPONSIBLE: DON'T DRINK & DRIVE! We are currently working with area taxi services to hopefully secure discounted rates during Reunion Weekend. Further details will be made availableonce a full commitment has been received.
  • Please remember that Saturday's Semi-Formal Dinner/Dance is an event in which you are expected to dress in appropriate semi-formal/cocktail party attire. Business casual attire will be acceptable as well. Dress within your own comfort zone but entrance will not be permitted to anyone wearing tennis shoes, jeans, t-shirts, etc.
  • The events on Friday & Sunday are intended to be casual dress only (including jeans).

  • The Planning Committee is expecting a good turnout to these events. However, some classmates will be hard to locate. All contact and search efforts will solely be conducted online so please SPREAD THE WORD to all of your former classmates. Registration for the reunion must be completed online.
