Welcome to Waynesboro High School's Class Of 2001's 10 Year Reunion Web Site.
June 2011 will mark 10 years since the members of Waynesboro High School's (WHS) Class of 2001 left behind our care free lives as children and embarked on the wonderful and intimidating journey of adulthood. Each individual class member turned a page of excitement in our lives as we crossed over into unfamiliar territory. Our graduation was a great success for each of us and our families, as well as the City of Waynesboro. Our class received the honor of being the first group privileged to attend school together for seven years, from 6th through 12th grades, in Waynesboro, Va. Prior to the Class of 2001, the students of Waynesboro only attended Kate Collins Junior High School during their 7th and 8th grade years and then transferred to WHS for their remaining high school education.
There were many barriers and disagreements during that time of controversy in our town, between those that supported the newly formed Kate Collins Middle School and those that opposed its formation. In the midst of the controversy between adults with differing opinions, our class members found an opportunity to bond with peers from different backgrounds and came together to show that we could collectively make that new-found concept work. It was a memory that many have not forgotten and that we all still cherish to this day.
While several of us still reside in Virginia, others span the country and globe and have made their homes elsewhere…but it is the tradition of reunion that brings us all back to our roots. On June 24-26, 2011, Waynesboro High School's Class of 2001 will gather to commemorate our time at Waynesboro High School.
