Linda Armstrong (Causey)

Linda Armstrong Causey (May 12, 1941 - September 4, 2011)

Linda A. Causey, of Huntsville, AL, was born in Belmont, NC to Fred and Ayre Armstrong. She graduated as Salutatorian in 1963 from Vanderbilt University with a degree in mathematics. While at Vanderbilt, she was honored as Lady of the Bracelet as well as with a membership in Phi Beta Kappa. After graduating, Mrs. Causey moved to Huntsville to work at General Electric, where she met her future husband.

Mrs. Causey loved babies and served in the nursery at First Baptist Church for more than 40 years. She was an avid reader. She also shared her love of gardening, flowers, hiking, and walking daily with a group of friends. She is predeceased by her parents and her sister, Judy Abington.

Mrs. Causey is survived by her husband of 46 years, Wilton Causey of Huntsville; sons Allan Causey and wife, Cora; and Steven Causey and wife, Amy; daughter Karen Phillips and husband, Scott, all of Birmingham; grandchildren Kate and Sarah Coleman Causey; Tanner, Caroline, and Anna Causey; and Carley and Will Phillips; and her brother, Guy Armstrong and wife Sally, of Marin County, CA.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:30 am Wednesday at First Baptist Church with a memorial service to follow. Laughlin Service Funeral Home is assisting the family. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Huntsville Public Library.
