Linda Drake McCrackin (January 12, 1942 - August 29, 2016)

Linda entered into eternal peace in her home surrounded by family. She was the daughter of the late Charles Warren Drake, Betty Lindsay Drake, and stepmother Beverly Buerlot Drake. She is survived by her beloved husband, Thomas Hunter McCrackin III; children William Henry McCrackin (Ann), Warren Drake White (Kerri), Lindsay White Oliver and Patrick Andrew White (Ellen); grandchildren, Thomas Richey Oliver and Mary Jane White; brothers Peter Francis Drake (Debra) and Scott Christopher Drake (Doris); and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, William Warren Drake.

Linda was born and raised in Warson Woods, MO, graduated from Webster Groves High School in 1959, and earned a BS in Nursing at Skidmore College in Sarasota Springs, New York in 1963. She worked as a nurse in various departments at St. John's Mercy Hospital in St. Louis for 31 years, and then founded her case management business, McCrackin and Associates, where she worked until retiring in 2005. Linda provided superb care for hundreds of patients and families.

After retiring, she dedicated considerable time to St. Vincent de Paul parish and its social outreach programs, the Let's Start organization, Hosea House, and Lift for Life Academy. Linda was a brilliant woman with expertise in nursing and sewing, which she used after retirement to work with the underserved. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends and at church, and she had a quick wit and a generous and loving heart.

Services: A visitation on Friday, September 2 from 4 - 8 PM (casual dress, please) will be held at Bopp Chapel, 10610 Manchester Road in Kirkwood. A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, September 3rd at 11:30 AM at St. Vincent de Paul parish, 1408 South 10th Street, St. Louis, MO 63104. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to St. Vincent de Paul parish.
