In Memoriam

Carol Ann Seib (Rohlfing)

Carol Seib Rohlfing (January 1, 1942 ~ May 27, 2010)

Carol Ann Rohlfing, beloved daughter of Dorothy Seib and loving mother of Kathi and Tracy, died at the age of 68 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She is also survived by her brother William (Barbara) Seib, niece Emily (Jason) Uphill, nephew Billy Seib of Columbus, OH, aunt Ruth (Ed) Gammeter, cousin Gladys (John) Young and children Tim (Catherine) and Kim (Ben) Sanchez, and their children Dominic, Bella, Vincent and Anthony Young; Billy and Addie Bitting, all of St. Louis.

Carol was a graduate of Webster Groves High School and Harris Stowe. She taught kindergarten in the Ferguson-Florissant School district at Caroline, Airport, and Wedgwood Schools until her retirement in 2004. She was a gifted teacher, having been named Teacher of the Year during her time at Airport Elementary School. Both her students and her colleagues benefited from her enormous creativity.

Carol loved gardening and made every place she ever lived or worked more beautiful through her efforts. She was a beloved friend who maintained the ties of friendship for over fifty years in many cases. Few of us have faced as many or such difficult health challenges as Carol and yet her faith, spirituality and positive attitude kept her wonderful smile on her beautiful face. She will be missed by so very many and never, ever forgotten.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund (OCRF.org), Humane Society, or Habitat for Humanity.
